College Football
Colorado State +6.5 over Houston
Houston has dropped two straight games and has been away from home preparing for this game for two weeks due to the Hurricane Ike. Picture yourself not sleeping in your own bed or having a home cooked meal for two weeks. Now picture yourself playing in one of the highest altitudes you can play at in College Football (5000 ft). The Houston offense is great, but the defense is pretty bad. Look for the Rams to get the running game going and to wear down this Houston squad. Take Colorado State

Navy +5.5 over Rutgers
Navy has one of the best offenses in the nation and the Rutgers defense doesn't ever really practice against the triple option. Rutgers has gotten off to a bad start, but I do think their offense will come around. Navy doesn't have the best defense and today would be a perfect day for Rutgers QB Mike Teel to have a breakout game. The big question in this game for Rutgers is when do they get the offense back on track? If it takes a few drives it might be too late as they could already be trailing by 14. Rutgers has not looked good and until they can prove otherwise they are in the category of a bad football team. Take Navy.

Wake Forest +5 over Florida State
Wake came down to Tallahassee and crushed FSU 30-0 two years ago. FSU will be looking for revenge in a big way at home, but you cannot deny that Wake is one of the most complete teams in college football. The Deacons have a Good defense and great QB and one of the best kickers in the game. Florida State has cruised by their first two opponents, but they were no names schools. Everyone all of a sudden thinks FSU has fixed their passing game because of the two prior wins this year. We will see how they do against a really tough defense that seems to have their number now. Take Wake Forest.

Tennessee +7.5 over Florida
For the success that Tennessee has with Fulmer as head coach people really get on this guy for not winning the big games. Florida won by 39 pts last year, but this year I believe Tennessee gets the running game going and keeps Tebow off the field for the Gators. The betting public is all over the Gators, but this is one of those SEC games where all the stats point to Florida and somehow they lose or just get by kicking a late FG. Take the Vols.

Major League Baseball
Marlins +110 over Phillies

Savannah Sports

3 Units Toledo +7

2. 50,000♦ Michigan State

2. Michigan State- Good spot to back the Spartans, as Notre Dame comes into this contest with some buzz after beating a Michigan team that tried their best to give them the game. You'll forgive me for harping on the Wolverines, but 4 fumbles and two picks later, its hard for me to be that impressed by Notre Dame's win. In other words, don't be fooled, Michigan State has owned this series of late, and they'll own today's game as well!

Last two years the Irish have been unable stop anything the Spartans offense has thrown at them, allowing 40 and 31 points in their last two meetings respectively. I see little difference this year, as QB Hoyer and RB Ringer return, along with a big and experienced o-line (all upperclassmen). Some people were disappointed by the Spartand mere 17 points scored against FAU, but rest-assured, that was a rain-soaked contest that required power running, not passing, and I think we can all agree they were succesful (Ringer 43 carries for 276 yards rushing and 2 TDs)!

For those of us who watched the Irish beat the Wolverines, were you really that impressed by this Norte Dame offense? Clausen completed under 50% of his passes for 2 TDs and 2 picks, while the running game averaged just 3.3 yards per carry! Guys, I'll tell you again, Notre Dame won that game because Michigan handed it to them, not because of anything special they did. While the Spartans defense isn't as sack-happy as they were last season, they'll still apply more than enough pressure to keep Clausen guessing. Also, with CBs Weaver and Rucker playing extremely well, passing the ball has become a lot harder than it used to be against this Spartans D.

Bottom line, while the visitor has grabbed the cash in this series for 7 straight meetings, look for that trend to broken this afternoon, as an overrated Notre Dame squad gets all they can handle and more from this Michigan State team. The public has always loved the Irish, but truth be told, they're still a ways away from being relevant, while the Spartans are an up-and-coming team looking for a big home win. Spartans roll!

Take Michigan State comfortably over Notre Dame in this college football match up.
