DUKE Shocker of the Month
Game: Georgia Tech vs. Duke Game Time: 11/10/2007 1:00:00 PM Prediction: Duke Reason: I'm taking the points with DUKE. The Yellow Jackets are a solid team. However, in my opinion, they represent a drop in class from the last three opponents (Virg. Tech, Florida State and Clemson) which the Blue Devils have had to face. With a conservative coach in Chan Gailey, the Jackets are also not the type of team that typically blows teams out. In fact, they're just 2-10 ATS as conference road favorites of between three and 20 points. The Yellow Jackets got crushed by V-Tech in their last game (28-3) and each of their last three road games (two losses, one win) has been decided by five points or less. Despite another losing season, the Blue Devils have played hard. In addition to winning at Northwestern, they lost by 11 points or less vs. several quality teams, including Virginia, Miami, Navy and Wake Forest. This is the final home game for the seniors and they clearly want to finish it with a victory. As senior center Matt Rumsey had to say: "...That's what we're preparing for (to win) and that's what we're going to be ready to do..." Note the Duke Coach Ted Roof is a Georgia Tech alum and that his first conference win as coach of the Blue Devils came against Georgia Tech, a 41-17 upset (as +13 point dogs) here in 2003. The Blue Devils also have several players that went to high school with Georgia Tech players, making the desire to win even stronger. In addition to the similar pointspread, note that the 2003 game also came when Duke only had one win on the season and that it also came in Duke's home finale, also in the third last week of the regular sesason. The Blue Devils lost their home finale by only a single point last season. Look for them to give a huge effort once again this season, keeping this game much closer than expected and possibly "shocking" the Jackets by scoring the outright uspet, as they did in 2003. *shocker of the month

OKLAHOMA STATE Upset Alert
Game: Kansas vs. Oklahoma St. Game Time: 11/10/2007 8:00:00 PM Prediction: Oklahoma St. Reason: I'm taking the points with OKLAHOMA STATE. The Jayhawks' big win over Nebraska last week has given us terrific value with a talented, hungry and explosive Oklahoma State team this week. As impressive as the Jayhawks have been, they're still only averaging 22.7 points per game on the road. On the other hand, the Cowboys are averaging 41.2 points per game at home. They've won four of five at home this season, with last week's tough 3-point loss vs. Texas representing the lone loss. Looking back at the past 12 months and we find that the Cowboys have won nine of 12 games here. The three losses came vs. Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma and ALL came by six points or less. The Cowboys won by 10 points at Kansas last season, outgaining them by a whopping 603-365 marging in total yards. That win brought the Cowboys to a perfect 5-0 SU/ATS the last five series meetings, all five victories coming by double-digits. While this game is huge for the visitors, who want to keep their undefeated record in tact, it's also huge for the Cowboys, as they still need a win to become bowl eligible. Look for them to give their guests more than they can handle once again, improving to 7-3 ATS the last 10 times they were listed as underdogs of eight points or less. *November Underdog of the Month
