ETHAN LAW PRESENTS...MANHATTAN SYNDICATE PLAYS!

Syndicate play: The first play the syndicate collectively bet this week was VANDERBILT +4! The “smart kids” opened as a 4 home underdog. After some considerable discussion the group decided to place a $50,000 wager on Vanderbilt +4. Within a few hours adjustments were made to the line across the board as most shops moved the number off the 4 to 3.5, but the line has since gone back up to 4 in most shops.

Ethan’s thoughts: All three advisor's flagged Vanderbilt early in the week including myself. Although the bye week should benefit Kentucky, they essentially have nothing to play for anymore this season after their devastating loss to Mississippi State two weeks ago, which knocked them out SEC race. In contrast, Vanderbilt is at 5 wins and they have not been to a bowl game in 25 years. The Smart Kids are, well, smart so they know that this is their best shot for that 6th win as their remaining contests are at Tennessee and home against a very good Wake Forest team. So in a nut shell, this game is their season! It should also be noted that this is just the 4th time that Kentucky has been a road favorite in their last 23 games, so this is not a roll they are comfortable in. Finally, it should be noted that the line has not budged all week (until we placed our bet) yet the public support in favor of Kentucky is at a shocking 89% at the time of this writing!

SYNDICATE PLAY: VANDERBILT +4

Syndicate play: The second play the syndicate collectively bet this week was UAB +21! The line open at the three touchdown number and has been pretty steady despite some shops moving the line off the 21 to 20.5. After some considerable discussion the group decided to place a small $20,000 wager on UAB +21.

Ethan’s thoughts: Two of the three advisors liked UAB including myself. The line has not budged off the 21 and has actually gone down a ½ point in some shops despite public support in favor of UCF at a whopping 85%. We all agreed that there is some value in the three TD spread as USF comes into this contest winners of three in a row (wins over Tulsa, Southern Miss, and Marshall), while UAB is off three straight losses. Of course there is concern over the Blazers ability to stop the USF rushing attack as UAB is the worst in the country against the run and that’s UCF strength. However, the Knights have one of the worst passing attacks in the league, which will allow the UAB linebackers to stack the box to prevent some big plays. UAB should also find some passing success against the UCF secondary that’s given up 18 touchdown passes.

SYNDICATE PLAY: UAB +21

Stan Sharp | CFB Side Triple-Dime Bet
178 Texas -6.5 (-110) BetUS vs 177 Texas Tech
Analysis: Stan has made one of his Biggest Bets of the Season on Texas today. Stan feels that Texas Tech will not be able to stop the Longhorn attack which will have long sustained drives against this poor defense. Texas will build on last week's come from behind win against Oklahoma St. Take TEXAS as STAN'S CONFERENCE BLOWOUT BIG BET OF THE YEAR and make them a TRIPLE DIME PLAY.

4* #166 VIRGINIA TECH (-6') over Florida State by 20 at 3:30 PM EST
Florida State has won 12 straight in this series including a 27-22 victory in the inaugural ACC Championship Game in 2005. If that wasn't painful enough, Seminoles head coach Bobby Bowden is a perfect 15-0 SU against the Hokies while Tech skipper Frank Beamer stands 0-7 SU versus the Noles. This Virginia Tech football team has a lot of pride and I guarantee you Coach Beamer has made those records known.

For the Hokies, this is the perfect spot to grab a victory over the Seminoles. FSU enters this contest off its amazing upset win over the previously undefeated Boston College Eagles and the Noles are ripe for a beating. My system book agrees.

Coming off a straight up victory over an undefeated team at week nine of the season or later, college football teams are a dismal 11-19-1 ATS in their next game including a wallet-breaking 3-14 ATS in this role provided they were priced as an underdog of +1.5 or more last. Florida State is locked into this "play against" situation.

There are several technical reasons to like Tech here. First, since 1988, the Hokies are a powerful 39-17 ATS at home priced as an underdog or a favorite of -14 or less. Second, in a revenge mode and matched up against an opponent that carries a won/loss percentage of .650 or better, Tech is a terrific 26-8-1 ATS. Finally, coming off a straight up underdog win, VT is a jaw-dropping 14-1 ATS in their next game.

On foreign soil, FSU has posted a dismal 9-14 ATS mark in its last 23 tries including a stiff 4-11 ATS in this set matched up against a foe that owns a won/loss percentage of .500 or better. The Hokies are way overdue for a victory against the Noles and they'll get it here. Take Virginia Tech.

3* #144 UTAH (-13) over Wyoming by 28 at 3:30 PM EST
Don't look now but the Utah Utes are on fire. Off wins over Utah State, Louisville, San Diego State, TCU and Colorado State, Kyle Whittingham's troops will be revved up and ready for this revenge affair. In case you forgot, Utah strolled into Wyoming last season and dropped a 31-15 decision to the Cowboys. This is one payback investment that must be made.

According to the history book, the Utes own a commanding 10-4 SU and 9-5 ATS record in this series including a superb 5-1 SU and ATS at home. Equally impressive, Utah is a tremendous 26-10-1 ATS priced as a home favorite of -10 or more. Finally, in the regular season running with rest, the Utes are a sizzling 17-6 SU and ATS including a powerful 8-1 ATS in this set matched up against an opponent that carries a won/loss percentage of .500 or better!

On the other side of the field, Wyoming stands 20-34 ATS as a guest matched up against a foe that enters off a straight up win including an ugly 3-15 SU and ATS in this set provided the Cowboys enter off a SU and ATS loss. Also, in its last 31 going into revenge, Wyoming is a disturbing 8-23 ATS including a shocking 5-21 ATS matched up against a conference opponent.

A college system of mine that backs rested revenging teams at game eight or later owns a sensational 48-13 ATS record provided they enter off a blowout win of 10 points or more. The Utes are locked into this money-making situation and they'll cruise to victory here. Take Utah.

3* #178 TEXAS (-6') over Texas Tech by 18 at 3:30 PM EST
The University of Texas is locked into one of my best Last Home Game sets and I'm riding the Longhorns straight to the bank.

Since 1980, .500 or better conference hosts running in their last home game are a tremendous 26-5-1 ATS provided this is not their season finale, they are off a bad defensive performance and allowed 35 points or more last and they are matched up against a .700 or worse foe that checks in off a straight up victory. Texas fits this awesome angle perfectly.

The 'Horns have enjoyed some success in this series notching a solid 7-1 SU and 5-3 ATS record in the last eight meetings. Also, in last home game sets, UT is a blazing 13-1 SU and 12-2 ATS! On the visitors side of the field, the Red Raiders stand 2-11 SU and ATS in their last 13 as a guest coming off a SU and ATS win.

The Longhorns were fortunate to escape Stillwater with a win last Saturday. This week, Mack Brown's troops won't go through the motions. Take Texas. Thank you and best of luck, Tom Stryker.

Rocketman Sports
Today's Pick: S. CAROLINA +6.5 (CFB: 7:45 ET)

CFB - Florida @ South Carolina 7:45 PM EST

Play On: (#188) 2* South Carolina +6.5

South Carolina is 3-1 ATS last 4 meetings overall with Florida and 3-1 ATS last 4 meetings at home against Florida. Florida is 3-11 ATS last 3 years after a win against a conference rival. Florida is 1-8 ATS last 3 years as a road favorite. Florida is allowing 32.7 points per game on the road this year. South Carolina is allowing only 15.6 points per game at home this year. South Carolina is 8-2 ATS last 10 against teams with a winning record. We'll play South Carolina for 2 units tonight! Thanks and good luck, Rocky

College Football
UCLA +7 over Arizona State
UCLA has a ton of injuries, but we are not betting on the Bruins. Arizona State is the most overrated team in the nation. UCLA is on their 4th string QB, but still will get the victory today. I really don't think you can even call this an upset. The Bruins need a few good wins to get a good bowl game. AZ is just not as good as their record. Take UCLA.

Maryland +6.5 over Boston College
BC lost last week to FSU and might not win another game this year. Maryland has a huge offensive line that will control the line of scrimmage. There are a few teams that have great records that really are not that good. BC goes as far as Matt Ryan will take them and after the first lose more will follow. Boston College is one of those teams. Look for Maryland to take care of business at home.

Baylor +38 over Oklahoma
Baylor let go of their head coach this week because they are pathetic. This line is still very high. You have to think that Guy Morriss will pull all the strings to try to compete for a new job. When you get into a situation with a spread this high everything must go right for the favorite. I do not believe the Sooners are a team this season that can win by this amount. Take Baylor.

UAB + 20.5 over Central Florida
UAB has been pathetic in the last 3 weeks. Central Florida has a great coach, but to win by this much is a little bit to much. UAB has absolutely nothing to lose and when you break down the talent in this game its pretty much even. Take UAB.

Miami -3.5 over Virginia
The Canes will be playing in the very last game at the orange bowl and the atmosphere will be electric. Virginia is a much improved team, but in a situation like this you have to take the home team closing out a legacy. Miami has a lot of history and will go out in style. Take the Hurricanes.

Vanderbilt -4 over Kentucky
Kentucky finally gets a running back healthy for today's game, but their defense stinks and on the road they are just not that good. The loss to Mississippi State proved that they were overrated and they had two weeks to think about how bad they played. The betting public is all over Kentucky because of Woodson, but he has struggled in the last few weeks and the Kentucky run is over. Look for Vandy to get the outright win.

(All hoops wagers should be 1/3 of your average football wager)
NBA Basketball
William Mary +23 over Georgetown

College Basketball
Nuggets -2 over Pacers
