Seahawks vs. Vikings in NFL Week 11 – Who Do the Experts Pick
The Minnesota Vikings want to keep expanding their lead in the NFC North and they can do that with a win this week over the Seattle Seahawks at 1:00PM ET.
The Seahawks jumped out to a 14-point lead over the Cardinals last Sunday, but wound up losing to Arizona, 31-20 as an 8.5-point underdog. Seattle had an opportunity to cover late, but Matt Hasselbeck threw two interceptions with under four minutes remaining in the game to doom Seahawk backers. Hasselbeck finished with 315 yards with a touchdown, while Justin Forsett rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.
The Vikings crushed the Lions 27-10 as a 17-point favorite in Week 10. The combined score went over the posted total of 47.5 as Adrian Peterson rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. Brett Favre threw for 344 yards with a touchdown in the victory.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made the Vikings 11-point favorites over the Seahawks in Week 11. The over/under total for this game has been established at 46 points.
It’s hard to like the Hawks in this matchup with how depleted they are on defense. The Vikings are a juggernaut right now and not many teams have figured out how to slow Peterson and Favre.
Seattle is 0-5 against the spread in its last five games on the road and 2-6 against the number in its last eight games. Minnesota actually hasn’t been much better, however, as its just 1-5-1 against the number in its last seven games at home.
Even though the trends don’t necessarily favor the Vikings, we still like them to cover this weekend. The Seahawks are just a different team on the road then they are at home and they should continue to struggle. Jim Mora has shown the inability to make successful adjustments at halftime, so even if Seattle hangs with the Vikings for the first half they should fold in the second.
