Everyone needs to be advised that over the next 2 days there will be timed updates to the service plays. Because of the drain these things put on our server I have to organize things better to keep the site from crashing.

New Years Eve Updates
Update 1 10:30am
Update 2 11:45am
Update 3 1:00pm

New Years Day Updates
Update 1 10:30am
Update 2 11:30am
Update 3 12:30pm

Be advised that no plays will be published between update times so refreshing over and over will only get you the same info.

Also be advised that if the service plays end up crashing the site again on these two days I will be putting the forum in maintenance mode and locking everyone out until the 1pm games go off. I hate to do it but I hate to lose money even more.

Any questions let me know but there will be no exceptions to this. If you don't like it the only thing I can tell you is Happy New Year

Michael:

Will the "Public Bets" still be updated every half hour?

Yes.

This only affects the forum portion of the site.

That is the main motivation for coming strong like this actually. The forum is a tiny portion of the overall site but it's a huge drain on web resources.

So I can't have these stupid service plays knocking down the public betting info, the odds, the bowl game previews, the bowl schedules, etc. when 1000x's more people want to see that stuff than want to see these service plays.

I know a lot of people like them but they really are a nuisance to site uptime.

I just wanted to say thank you to all who keep this site running. I know it takes a huge amount of time and resources, I don't know if you are paid for what you do or not and I guess that is immaterial to my point, THANK YOU. Your hard work does not go unoticed or unappreciated.
