Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made the Colts a 3-point favorite over the Redskins in Week 6. The over/under total for this game is currently 44 points.
After edging out the Chiefs last Sunday, the Colts are now 3-2 on the season and have covered in three of their first five games. That said, they’re 1-2 on the road this year and have covered just one of those three road games.
Washington upset Green Bay last Sunday to improve to 3-2 on the year and has now covered in three of its first five games. The Skins are 2-1 at home this year and 2-1 against the spread at FedEx Field.
The Pick:
The Colts are 7-1-1 against the spread versus a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games in October. The Redskins, meanwhile, are just 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games as a home underdog of 0.5-3 points and 0-4-1 ATS in their last five games in Week 6.
The jury is still out as to whether or not the Skins are for real. They’re certainly an improved team with Mike Shanahan and Donovan McNabb in command, but they’re still weak in a lot of areas – especially at the skills positions on offense. If the Colts’ run defense plays as well in this game as it did in the second half against Kansas City last Sunday, then Indy should cover the three points. Our pick is the Colts –3.
