Sunday Night Football Saints vs. Cowboys NFL Picks & Predictions
By Anthony Rome

DALLAS, TX (The Spread) - The Cowboys will look to hand the Saints another road loss when the two teams clash in Dallas tonight at 8:30PM ET on "Sunday Night Football."

NEW ORLEANS: It took them three weeks and a little home cooking but the Saints finally picked up their first win of the season with a 20-9 defeat of the Vikings. They're now 1-2 straight up and 1-2 against the spread as they covered as a 10-point favorite last week. Their offense ranks fourth in total yards per game, fifth in passing yards per game, sixth in rushing yards and seventh in points scored, but their defense has allowed an average of 379.7 yards per game and 24.0 points per contest. Drew Brees has 863 passing yards on the season while tight end Jimmy Graham has a team-high 254 yards receiving.

DALLAS: The Cowboys are now 2-1 on the season following their dramatic come-from-behind win over the Rams last Sunday in St. Louis. Led by Tony Romo and DeMarco Murray, the Cowboys erased a 21-0 first-quarter deficit to beat the Rams 34-31 as a 1.5-point road favorite. They're now 2-1 on the year and 2-1 against the spread, while the under has hit in two of their first three games. They rank 12th in total yards, 24th in passing yards, 3rd in rushing and 8th in point scored, while their defense ranks 21st in total yards allowed per game, 21st in passing, 15th in rushing and 18th in points allowed.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Saints are 3-point road favorites over the Cowboys while the total is currently sitting at 53.5 points. New Orleans opened as 2.5-point favorites before the line was bet up, while the total opened at 53 before being bet up as well.

NFL FREE PICK: Take the over. According to latest NFL trends, the over is 5-1 in the Cowboys’ last six games following a straight up win, 4-1 in their last five games in Week 4 and 6-2 in their last eight home games versus a team with a losing road record. The over is also 24-10 in the Saints’ last 34 games after allowing less than 15 points in their previous game and 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams. There’s just too much firepower on both sides for this game to fall under the total.
