“1 UNIT” UPSET SHOCKER (Bengals +4 at home versus Steelers in a 1:05 eastern kickoff): Even though they have gotten off to a horrible start, Cincinnati can pull to within ONE game of first place with an upset victory this afternoon as all teams in the AFC North division are separated by just 2 games. Last week at home the Bengals trailed by a massive 23-10 count in the third quarter before rallying and ultimately saving their season. My research indicates that their were 4 different huge devlopments in the Cincinnati victory over the Jets last Sunday. First of all the Bengals ran for a season high 177 yards on the ground even though lead rusher Rudi Johnson (groin) ended up missing his third consecutive contest. Not only did reserve Kenny Watson rush for 130 yards, he also crossed the goaline 3 different times. With the running game finally working, Cincinnati quarterback Carson Palmer attempted a season-low 21 passes, but completed 14 of them f! or 226 aerial yards. One of the many problems this team has had out of the gate has been leaning too heavily on Palmer to constantly bail them out which is why he currently has an AFC-high 9 interceptions. Even though #1 runner Rudi Johnson is doubtful to play this afternoon, I am convinced that Cincinnati finally will have enough faith on the ground game in order to keep the pressure off of Carson Palmer who now becomes more dangerous along with his All-Pro roster of receivers. The second big development last weekend for the Bengals was that their defense allowed a SEASON LOW 84 yards rushing which at least gives them confidence today that they can contain Pittsburgh’s Willie Parker. Returning to the offensive side of the football development #3 revolves around the fact that last week Cincinnati won the TIME OF POSSESSION battle as they had a full 8:00 edge in that critical category (amazing what an effective running game can do). The 4th and ! final huge development from last Sunday was that the Bengals successfu lly converted 7-of-10 conversions on third-down. To give you an idea how huge that statistic was, consider that in the prior 2 games the Bengal offense was a dreadful 1-of-18 in that third down conversion category. I will admit that Pittsburgh has all the statistical advantages in this battle as they are a dazzling 14-3 the past 17 trips to Cincinnati, but consider that stellar mark was compiled when Bill Cowher was head coach. Last week the Steelers and new headman Mike Tomlin marched into Denver leading the entire NFL in points allowed (13) and total defense (250) but struggled mightly in what turned out to be a 31-28 loss. Today that Steelers defense will be challenged again as Cincinnati is averaging a healthy 27 points per contest. In that Sunday primetime setback a week ago, Pittsburgh for some reason ran the football a season-LOW 26 times which was strange considering they were facing an opponent with one of the league’s worst defenses ag! ainst the run. Instead of running the football, Steeler quarterback Ben Roethlisberger ended up attempting a hefty 35 passes and even though he threw for near 300 yards the “interception bug” that plagued him a year ago reared its ugly head again as he was picked off twice. My problem with the Steelers is that they benefitted from a soft opening schedule that saw them face teams with a negative 15-29 combined record so there is now way of knowing just how good this team really is. Just about all of the statistics favor the Steelers in this matchup including the fact that the visiting team is on a sizzling 9-1 ATS tear in this series. But do note that last week’s 38-31comeback home win opens the door to a long term database angle that indicates Cincinnati is actually a positive 12-4 ATS after a game where they scored 30+ points.

Teddy June’s NFL Underdog Game of the Week
The King of Outright underdog winners has a big selection for you today. This is a home team getting points that will win outright and shock the public!!! Teddy June’s NFL Underdog Game of the Week, DO NOT MISS this huge selection and get on board with the King of Underdogs!
My 10* NFL Underdog Game of the Week is on the Carolina Panthers plus the points over the Indianapolis Colts. The Panthers enter this game 4-2 SU, 4-2 ATS while the Colts enter 6-0 SU and 4-2 ATS as well. The Colts are coming into this game off a short week as they won on Monday night against the Jaguars, while the Panthers are coming off their bye week. The extra time for preparation for the Panthers as well as a short week for the Colts will certainly play a role in this game. The big talk coming into this one really is looking ahead to the matchup between the Patriots and the Colts the following week. Marvin Harrsion will sit this game out with a knee injury and Vinny Testaverde will get the nod for the Panthers. Testaverde will make his second start this season, as his first start he passed for 206 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT’s. Look for Steve Smith and the Panthers to be extra motivated today as most of the talk has been looking past this game, with two weeks to prepare, John Fox in the underdog role, and the public pounding the Colts, the panthers are primed for the big upset. The Colts are 2-6 ATS their last 8 games as road favorites and the Panthers are 11-5-1 their last 17 games as home underdogs (3-0 ATS as underdogs this year). My 10* NFL Underdog Game of the Week is on the Carolina Panthers plus the points.

Teddy June’s NFC Game of the Week (NFL Last 24 Plays 15-9 63%)
The man has an NFC matchup he absolutely loves today. It’s Teddy June’s NFC Game of the Week. He is 15-9 63% his last 24 NFL selections, Jump on board!
My 10* NFC Game of the Week is on the San Francisco 49ers plus the points over the New Orleans Saints. The 49ers finally get Alex Smith back today and it could not come at a better time for this squad as they have really been struggling offensively. 49ers enter this game 2-4 SU, 2-4 ATS and the Saints enter 2-4 SU, 1-5 ATS. The Saints are back on the public radar after wins at Seattle and at home against Atlanta. The 49ers meanwhile started the year 2-0 have now dropped 4 straight games mostly due to horrible offensive performances as Trent Dilfer simply could not get the job done 3 TD’s, 5 INT’s and a passer rating of 55.0. He really struggled in taking over the role as starter with Smith out. Look for Gore to tear up this Saints defense today and with Smith back at the helm helping split some of the offensive load, the 49ers will have a break out offensive game today. The public has bought into the last two victories that the Saints are back to “normal” as I am simply not buying this as their victories were against mediocre teams in Seattle and Atlanta and still have this Saints team vastly overvalued due to last year’s performance. My 10* NFC Game of the Week is on the San Francisco 49ers plus the points.

Teddy June’s NFL Non-Conference Game of the Week (October Football 34-22 61%)
Today, Teddy features three selections in the online store. He is 34-22, 61% this month in Football and looks to continue that success through the last weekend of October. This is Teddy June’s NFL Non-Conference Game of the Week, Go get it!
My 10* NFL Non-Conference Game of the Week is on the St. Louis Rams plus the points over the Cleveland Browns. The Rams enter this game still searching for their first victory of the season while the Browns enter 3-3 SU (0-2 Away) and 4-2 ATS. The Rams woes this season really have stemmed on the offensive side of the ball. Today they get back a healthier Stephen Jackson and Marc Bulger in his second game since returning from injury. The Browns have really struggled defensively ranking dead last in total yards at 413 per game, 30th in rushing yards at 149.5 and 39th in points allowed at 30.5. This is certainly a recipe for road disaster has it is extremely difficult to overcome defensive deficiencies on the road especially out of conference. Look for Bulger and Jackson to spark this Rams offense and for a motivated Rams’ squad to show up as they desperately need their first win on the season. The Rams have historically been very solid home underdogs as shown by an ATS of 9-2 their last 11 games as home dogs. My 10* NFL Non-Conference Game of the Week is on the St. Louis Rams plus the points.

Recap:
10* Carolina Panthers
10* San Francisco 49ers
10* St. Louis Rams
