COMPS

Jim Feist

Vikings

The Vikings (4-6 SU, 4-4-2 ATS) are a one-dimensional offense with a great offensive line. Rookie RB Adrian Peterson has been great, but missed last week's game with a knee injury. RB Chester Taylor (5 ypc) is a terrific backup and had 164 yards in Sunday's 29-22 win over Oakland. The QB play is weak, going with second-year QB Tarvaris Jackson, who is back from a concussion that knocked him out of the game against San Diego. The run defense is strong. The Giants (7-3 SU, 6-4 ATS) offense is loaded with talent, at No. 15 in the NFL (23.6 points, 128 rushing, 203 passing per game) behind 26-year old QB Eli Manning (15 TDs, 11 INTs), RB Brandon Jacobs (5.3 ypc), WR Plaxico Burress (8 TDs), WR Amani Toomer and TE Jeremy Shockey. The defense is solid at No. 7, allowing 20 points, 97 yds rushing, 210 passing per game. Michael Strahan had a season-high three sacks while James Butler and Sam Madison both made victory-sealing interceptions, helping New York beat the Detroit Lions 16-10 Sunday. RB Brandon Jacobs left the game with an injury, and linebacker Mathias Kiwanuka broke his left leg. The Vikings will look to control this game with their ground attack and we look for them to stay close as they can't afford to come from too far behind. We'll take the points with one of the best rushing teams in football.

NBA-Pacers

The Pacers aren't very good, but the NBA is as much about scheduling dynamics as anything else. Indiana enjoyed an off say on Saturday following a great win over the Mavericks Friday. Cleveland is off a very hard fought win against Toronto on Saturday afternoon. That adds up to a solid scheduling scenario for the hosts, so my play here will be the Pacers to get the win and cover

Chuck Franklin

Tennessee (-1') at CINCINNATI

I am 8-3 with my last 11 NFL Free Picks. Huge Profits again today!

Tennessee will bounce back with an easy win at Cincinnati today. In that loss last Monday night at Denver Vince Young threw for over 300 yards against a very good Broncos secondary. The Bengals have one of the worst pass defenses in the league and Young will have a huge day. Cincinnati has lost four of its last six games and the Titans need this win to stay on pace for the playoffs.

The Bengals at home are only 3-11-1 ATS the last 15 games against a non-division opponent and 1-7 ATS at home against a foe off a double-digit loss. They are 1-6 SU and 1-5-1 ATS the last six games against teams with a record of .400 or better. The Titans are a solid 25-15 ATS off back-to-back losses, including 14-6 ATS if the team they are playing is off a loss.

3♦ TENNESSEE

New Jersey at LA LAKERS (-7')

Even with Vince Carter back in the line-up the Nets will not win their third road game in a row. The Lakers and Kobe Bryant will see to that. Los Angeles is back home after winning only one game on their three-game road trip. At Staples Center the Lakers won the last three games by an average of 18 points per game.

New Jersey is 8-20-1 ATS the last 29 games when listed as an underdog and they are only 2-7-1 ATS the last 10 games played with only one day of rest. The Lakers are 5-1 ATS the last six games after a loss and 5-2 ATS the last seven games with one day of rest. L.A. swept the two game series from N.J. last season and will win by double-digits tonight.

3♦ LAKERS

Big Al McMordie

Arizona vs. Kansas (NCAAB) - Nov 25, 2007 8:00 PM EST

The Wildcats have won their last two games (88-64 vs. Adams St and 81-62 vs. Missouri-KC) to move to 3-1 on the season. And Arizona is a solid 17-2 ATS as underdogs of more than 2 points in the regular season vs. a foe off an ATS win. And if the Wildcats check in off back to back victories, then our 17-2 stat moves to a perfect 10-0 ATS. Take the points with Arizona. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie

JAMES PATRICK SPORTS

Cavaliers vs. Pacers 2:35 p.m. est.
Cavs still missing four key components to the pieces that took them to the NBA Finals last season. The result has been a sputtering offense and a tendency to let lesser teams hang around with a chance to win games. We look for that same thing to happen again in Conseco Fieldhouse this Sunday afternoon

Take the Pacers

SONICS

Game: San Antonio Spurs vs. Seattle SuperSonics Game Time: 11/25/2007 9:05:00 PM Prediction: Seattle SuperSonics Reason: I feel that this number is too high and I'm taking the points with SEATTLE. The Sonics remain winless (0-5 SU) at home. However, they've covered the spread in three of those five games and NONE of their five losses has come by more than seven points. They haven't been playing weaklings either as four of those five teams (Suns, Nets, Pistons, Jazz) made the playoffs last season and expect to do so again this year. The Spurs have been merely mediocre on the road, going 3-2 SU and 2-3 ATS. They've outscored opponents by an average of just 1.2 points in those five games. While they did get blown out in the most recent meeting here, the Sonics have managed a healthy 4-2 ATS record the last six series meetings that were played here. They won two of those games outright and two of the losses came by a combined six points. The Spurs, who play at Sacramento tomorrow, haven't fared very well when playing the front-end of a back to back set. Dating back to last April, they're just 1-4 ATS the last five times they played in that situation (1-1 this season) losing three of those games outright. Note that for the last five seasons, Sonics' coach PJ Carlesimo has served as Gregg Popovich's top assistant in San Antonio. He knows the Spurs as well as anyone and he'll definitely want the Sonics to give a maximum effort tonight. Look for Carlesimo's crew to rise to the occasion and give them a much tougher game than expected tonight. *NBA Best Bet

OVER sonics/spurs

Game: San Antonio Spurs vs. Seattle SuperSonics Game Time: 11/25/2007 9:05:00 PM Prediction: over Reason: I'm playing on the Sonics and Spurs to finish OVER the number. The Sonics played a relatively low-scoring game here last time, combining with the Nets for 191 points. However, that was the exception not the norm, as all four of their other home games produced more than 200 points. Overall, the Sonics rank second last in the league defensively, allowing 108 points per game. Note that the last two series meetings both finished above the number, bringing the OVER to 7-3 the last 10 series meetings, including a profitable 4-1 mark the last five times the teams faced each other here at Seattle. While the defending champs certainly know how to play great defense, they tend to ease up defensively somewhat when playing lower tier teams on the road. In fact, after their earlier game at Memphis finished above the number, the Spurs have now seen the OVER go 15-7-2 since the start of the 2005 season when listed as road favorites in the -6.5 to -9 range. Meanwhile, the Sonics have seen the OVER go 7-3 the last 10 times they were listed as home underdogs in the same range. Look for more of the same this evening as the final combined score finishes above the number and OVER improves to 5-1 the last six times the Sonics played on a Sunday.

MIAMI OHIO

Game: Miami (Ohio) vs. Mississippi State Game Time: 11/25/2007 9:00:00 PM Prediction: Miami (Ohio) Reason: I'm taking the points with MIAMI OHIO. I have a lot of respect for this year's Bulldogs team. However, I feel the same way about the Redhawks and I really like the way that they've been playing to begin the season. The Redhawks have already beaten Xavier. That's no small feat, considering that Xavier just crushed #8 Indiana yesterday, improving to 4-1 on the season. The Redhawks also defeated a solid South Alabama team and their lone loss came by four points vs. USC. That brought them to 3-0 ATS on the season. Conversely, the Bulldogs managed just 21 points in the second half of their 63-49 loss to Southern Illinois. That dropped them to 1-3 ATS their last four games and 4-7 ATS in tournament games since the start of the 2005 season. I expect them to have trouble scoring again today vs. a tough Miami defense which is allowing just 57.7 points per game. Tough defense is nothing new for this team. In fact, last season Miami was the only NCAA Division I team to hold every one of its opponents to under 70 points and 18 of those opponents did not even reach the 60-point plateau, including Oregon, which barely defeated Miami in the NCAA Tournament, 58-56. Including that "cover" and the one vs. USC, the defending Mid-American Conference Tournament champions are now a highly profitable 10-1 ATS their last 11 tournament games. All of their games have been decided by five points or less and I'm expecting today's to come down to the wire once again. *ESPN Game of the Month
