Siena (-13) over CANISIUS
Siena has star forward Alex Franklin back in the lineup and the Saints at full strength are too much for lowly Canisius to handle. Siena hasn’t been quite as good in recent years after a win as they have been after a loss, but the Saints are 16-3 ATS in conference road games (8-3 ATS after a win), including 3-0 ATS as a road favorite with all 3 wins by 13 points or more and covering by 10 or more points each. Canisius applies to a negative 20-78-5 ATS weak home court situation while Siena applies to a 132-55-4 ATS big road favorite angle. My ratings favor Siena by 13 points, so the line is pretty fair, but I hesitate to make this game a Best Bet since Siena’s one weakness is 3-point shooting defense (39.3% allowed) and Canisius’ strength is 3-point shooting (22 per game at 34.7% and 43% at home). I’ll just lean with Siena at -14 points or less and I’d take Siena in a 2-Star Best Bet at -12 points or less

Virginia + 14.5 vs. Duke Duke is not yet Duke this year. They are just 3-7 ATS vs. the Atlantic Coast, 2-6 ATS vs. a team with a winning % above .600, 1-5 ATS at home vs. a team with a road winning % of great than .600, and 0-4-1 vs. a team with a winning record. The Cavaliers are 5-0-1 in their last 6 vs. a team with a winning S.U. record, 6-1 ATS following a S.U. loss, 12-5-1 vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 5-2 ATS following a ATS loss. Duke wins, but by single digits!
