Peyton Manning (-200)
Manning already won the MVP for the regular season. He was solid against Baltimore in the wild-card round and excellent against the tough Jets’ defense. Manning won the Super Bowl MVP in the win over Chicago three years ago, and he’ll get the nod again if it’s close.
Drew Brees (+300)
Brees threw for 4,388 yards in the regular season. He has six TD’s versus no picks in the playoffs, although his passing yards per game are down. Four of the nine MVP’s this decade have been quarterbacks. If the Saints pull off the upset, Brees will be looking great at these odds.
Joseph Addai (+800)
Addai rushed for 828 yards during the regular season and 10 touchdowns. Manning should have success throwing the ball, which would limit Addai’s chances for this award.
Pierre Thomas (+800)
Thomas is the featured runner for New Orleans, but he probably won’t get a lot of carries. The last back to win this award was Denver’s Terrell Davis in the 1998 season.
Reggie Wayne (+1000)
A receiver has won MVP three of the last five years. That includes Santonio Holmes last season. Wayne was the leading receiver during the regular season (1,264). However, there are three other good Colts’ receiving options, Pierre Garcon, Austin Collie and Dallas Clark.
Marques Colston (+1200)
Colston is the leading receiver for New Orleans, but Devery Henderson, Robert Meachem and Jeremy Shockey also catch a lot of balls. That’s lower Colston’s chances of winning.
Reggie Bush (+1500)
Bush is dangerous for MVP because he’s capable of scoring a TD by rushing, receiving or punt return. However, he deserves to be behind the other guys.
