Texans vs. Dolphins in NFL Week 16 – We Pick the Winner

The Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins put their slim playoff hopes on the line when they battle at 1:00PM ET on Sunday.

Bet The NFL Week 16

The Texans beat the Rams 16-13 as a 14-point favorite in Week 15, while the combined score fell under the posted total of 43.5 points. Matt Schaub threw for 367 yards with a touchdown for Houston, while wideout Andre Johnson caught night passes for 196 yards in the victory.

The Dolphins lost to the Titans 27-24 in overtime as a 5-point underdog in Week 15, while the combined score went over the posted total of 43 points. Chad Henne threw for 349 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions for Miami, while Ricky Williams rushed for 80 yards and a TD on 19 carries.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Dolphins 3-point favorites over the Texans in Week 16. The over/under total for this game has been set at 45 points.

Houston is just 1-4 against the spread in its last five games, while Miami is 4-1 ATS in its last five games. The over has also hit in five of Miami’s last six games at home.

Our free pick prediction for this game is the Dolphins –3 and the over 45. The Texans could be without tackle Duane Brown and linebacker Brian Cushing, who both missed practice this week due to injuries. If they can’t play, those are two key pieces that Houston will sorely miss.

The Texans are allowing over 20 points per game, while the Dolphins are surrendering close to 24 PPG. Both of these teams can score, which is why we think the over will hit in a shootout. But we also think Miami’s running game will eventually seize control of the game and the Dolphins will pull away in the fourth quarter.

Our NFL Week 16 Free Pick for this matchup is: MIAMI DOLPHINS –3 and OVER 45.

Texans vs. Dolphins Current Odds

111 Houston Texans +3 Over 45
112 Miami Dolphins –3 Under 45

NFL Week 16 Betting Trends

Houston is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games
Houston is 2-4 SU in its last 6 games
Miami is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games

2009 NFL Week 16: Raiders vs. Browns Point Spread Odds & Prediction

In a game only a bettor could love, the Cleveland Browns will host the Oakland Raiders at 1:00PM ET on Sunday.

Bet The NFL Week 16

The Raiders upset the Broncos 20-19 as a 13.5-point underdog in Week 15, while the combined score went over the posted today of 37 points. JaMarcus Russell threw for 47 yards with a touchdown in place of injured starter Charlie Frye, while running back Michael Bush rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.

The Browns beat the Chiefs 41-34 as a 2.5-point underdog in Week 15, while the combined score went over the posted total of 38.5 points. Jerome Harrison rushed for a team record 286 yards and three touchdowns on 34 carries in the win, while Josh Cribbs returned two kickoffs for scores.

Oddsmakers from online sports book Sports Interaction have made the Browns 3-point favorites over the Raiders in Week 16. The over/under total for today’s game has been set at 38 points.

Some trends to consider when looking at this game are Oakland is 1-4 against the spread in its last five games when playing Cleveland, while the Browns are a perfect 5-0 ATS in their last five games.

Brady Quinn was placed on IR early in the week, so the general thinking might be to take the Raiders after they just pulled off a great upset over Denver in Week 15. But we’re going to play into the ebb and flow of the NFL and cash in on Oakland’s inconsistency this season.

The Raiders haven’t won back-to-back games all season and have failed to cover in consecutive games all season. Even with Derek Anderson starting under center, we still like Cleveland to continue its hot streak and earn a win over an Oakland team that doesn’t know whether or not Frye will start after he suffered a concussion. We’re hoping that the ultra-horrible Russell starts and plays the entire game for the Raiders to ensure a Browns’ victory.

Our free pick prediction for this game is the Browns –3 and the under 38. Neither team is expected to score many points and with the wind being somewhat of a factor today, we love the under as much as we do the Browns.

Our NFL Week 16 Free Pick for this matchup is: CLEVELAND BROWNS -3 and UNDER 38.

Raiders vs. Browns Current Odds

105 Oakland Raiders +3 Over 38
106 Cleveland Browns –3 Under 38

NFL Week 16 Betting Trends

Oakland is 8-17 SU in its last 25 games on the road
Oakland is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games when playing Cleveland
Cleveland is 1-10 SU in its last 11 games at home
The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Cleveland's last 9 games at home

Chiefs vs. Bengals in Week 16 – Who Do the Experts Pick

The Cincinnati Bengals look to get back on track this Sunday when they host the struggling Kansas City Chiefs at 1:00PM ET.

Bet The NFL Week 16

The Chiefs lost to the Browns 41-34 as a 2.5-point favorite in Week 15, as the combined score went over the posted total of 38.5 points. Matt Cassel threw for 331 yards with two touchdowns for Kansas City, while running back Jamaal Charles rushed for 154 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries.

The Bengals lost to the Chargers 27-24 as a 7-point underdog in Week 15, while the combined score went over the posted total of 44 points. Quarterback Carson Palmer threw for 314 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for Cincinnati, while wideout Chad Ochocinco caught three passes for 79 yards and a touchdown.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made the Bengals 14-point favorites over the Chiefs in Week 16. The over/under total for today’s game has been set at 40 points.

Some trends to considering when looking at this matchup is that Kansas City is just 1-4 against the spread in its last five games, but is 14-7 ATS in its last 21 games on the road. Meanwhile, the Bengals are just 1-4 ATS in their last five games but are also 4-2 ATS in their last six games when playing Kansas City.

The Bengals are far and away the superior team, but they’re giving up too many points in this matchup. They’ve failed to cover in four of their last six games, including 0-3 in their last three games as favorites. Granted, Kansas City hasn’t been much better, covering in just one of its last five games. But Cincinnati’s offense has been stagnant at times this season and we think it’ll be grounded somewhat on a cloudy, windy day in Ohio today.

Our free pick prediction for this game is the Chiefs +14 and the under 40. Neither team should score many points and while we think the Bengals will win outright, we can’t see the value in eating that much chalk for a team that isn’t playing well at the moment.

Our NFL Week 16 Free Pick for this matchup is: KANSAS CITY CHIEFS +14 and UNDER 40.

Chiefs vs. Bengals Current Odds

107 Kansas City Chiefs +14 Over 40
108 Cincinnati Bengals –14 Under 40

NFL Week 16 Betting Trends

Kansas City is 2-4 ATS in its last 6 games when playing Cincinnati
The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Kansas City's last 7 games when playing Cincinnati
Cincinnati is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games
Cincinnati is 12-5 SU in its last 17 games

2009 NFL Week 16 Betting Preview: Seahawks vs. Packers Odds & Pick

The Green Bay Packers hope to nail down a playoff spot in the NFC with a win over the struggling Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at 1:00PM ET.

Bet The NFL Week 16

The Seahawks lost to the Buccaneers 24-7 as a 6.5-point underdog in Week 15, as the combined score fell under the posted total of 39 points. Matt Hasselbeck threw for 256 yards with a touchdown and four interceptions for Seattle, while John Carlson caught seven passes for 86 yards and a score.

The Packers lost to the Steelers 37-36 as a 3-point underdog in Week 15, as the combined score fell under the posted total of 42 points. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for 383 yards with three touchdown passes and one TD run for Green Bay, while receiver Greg Jennings had five receptions for 118 yards and a touchdown.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Packers 14-point favorites over the Seahawks in Week 16. The over/under total for today’s game has been set at 41.5 points.

Some trends to consider for this game are that Seattle is 4-9 against the spread in its last 13 games and 1-7 ATS in its last eight games on the road. The Packers are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six games and 3-1-2 ATS in their last six games when playing the Seahawks.

We don’t see much value in Seattle this week. They’ve failed to cover in their past two games and have combined to score just 14 points in their past two outings. They’re also coming off back-to-back blowouts, have nothing to play for and was shellacked 42-20 the last time they played in Green Bay.

The Seahawks’ defense has been a mess this season and Rodgers should take advantage of a secondary that is allowing close to 250 yards per game this season. Our free pick prediction for this contest is the Packers –14 and the under, seeing as how the Seahawks will have a tough time scoring double digit points again.

Our NFL Week 16 Free Pick for this matchup is: GREEN BAY PACKERS -14 and UNDER 41.5.

Seahawks vs. Packers Current Odds

103 Seattle Seahawks +14 Over 41.5
104 Green Bay Packers –14 Under 41.5

NFL Week 16 Betting Trends

Seattle is 1-3-2 ATS in its last 6 games when playing Green Bay

2009 NFL Week 16 Point Spread Odds & Preview: Panthers vs. Giants

The New York Giants will once again put their playoff hopes on the line when they host the Carolina Panthers at 1:00PM ET on Sunday.

Bet The NFL Week 16

The Panthers beat the Vikings 26-7 as an 8.5-point underdog in Week 15, while the combined score fell under the posted total of 43 points. Matt Moore threw for 299 yards with three touchdowns for Carolina, while Steve Smith hauled in nine passes for 157 yards and a touchdown.

The Giants crushed the Redskins 45-12 as a 3-point favorite on Monday night, while the combined score went over the posted total of 43.5 points. Eli Manning threw for 268 yards with three touchdowns on 19-of-26 passing.

Oddsmakers from online sports book Sports Interaction have made the Giants 7.5-point favorites over the Panthers in Week 16. The over/under total for this game has been set at 42.5 points.

The Panthers are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games on the road. Meanwhile, the Giants are just 2-7 against the number in their last nine games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games at home.

While the trends aren’t in the Giants’ favor, we love New York –7.5 in this matchup. The Panthers will be without running back DeAngelo Williams in this game because of an ankle injury. Without him, Carolina is going to have trouble sustaining drives.

The Panthers have struggled putting points on the board on the road, so we also recommend the under 42.5 points in this game. The Giants played extremely well last week and we think they’ll roll at home.

Our NFL Week 16 Free Pick for this matchup is: NEW YORK GIANTS –7.5 and under 42.5.

Panthers vs. Giants Current Odds

113 Carolina Panthers +8 (+270 moneyline) Over 42.5
114 New York Giants –8 (-340 moneyline) Under 42.5

NFL Week 16 Betting Trends

Buccaneers Road Underdogs vs. Saints in NFL Week 16

NFC South rivals square off at the Louisiana Superdome in Week 16, as the New Orleans Saints host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 1:00PM ET.

Bet The NFL Week 16

The Buccaneers beat the Seahawks 24-7 as a 6.5-point underdog in Week 15, as the combined score fell under the posted total of 39 points. Rookie quarterback Josh Freeman threw for two touchdowns and an interception, while tight end Kellen Winslow caught six passes for 93 yards in the win.

The Saints lost 24-17 to the Cowboys in Week 16, which was the first loss of the season. New Orleans failed to cover the 7.5-point spread, while the combined score went under the posted total of 53.5 points. Drew Brees finished with 298 yards and a touchdown in the loss.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made the Saints 14-point favorites over the Buccaneers in Week 16. The over/under total for today’s game has been set at 49 points.

Our free pick prediction for this game is Tampa Bay +14 and the under 49. The Saints have failed to cover the spread in six of their last eight games, while the Bucs are 4-2 against the spread in their last six games on the road.

The last time these two teams met, New Orleans blasted the Bucs 38-7 in Tampa. But Freeman is playing with more confidence and the defense has been much better now that head coach Raheem Morris has taken over calling the defensive plays.

New Orleans has been fading down the stretch and while we don’t think Tampa will win outright, we like the number sitting at two touchdowns and think the Bucs will keep the game somewhat close in the second half to earn a cover.

Also, 49 points is too high for this matchup. If the Cowboys and Saints can’t even total 49 points in New Orleans, we doubt the Bucs and Saints will.

Our NFL Week 16 Free Pick for this matchup is: TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS +14 and UNDER 49.

Buccaneers vs. Saints Current Odds

115 Tampa Bay Buccaneers +14 Over 49
116 New Orleans Saints –14 Under 49
