Pittsburgh-7 $220
over 47 $220
parlay
pittsburgh-7
over 47 $200.00

Props
Pittsburgh-10.5 +135 $100
over 52.5 +180 $100
total points scored by Steelers 27 -110 $110.00
will there be a safety +800 $50.00
longest completed pass by Roethlisberger 36.5 yds over-110 $55.00
total points scored in SB XLIII 57-63 6-1 $50.00
Total bet $1105.00

another prop you could use to cover is:
will the game be decided by exactly 3 points. +400

I started to bet this prop last year, but the spread was so large, that I didn't think it had a chance unless the Giants won. They did. It's a great bet for a prop because it doesn't matter which team wins. If your betting the Cards, you definetly want this one in your wagers. And I may use it to back up my Steelers-10.5 and -7.

good luck

A few more prop bets
Roethlisberger to complete a pass over 37.5 yard -110 $55.00
Pittsburgh with most rushing yards -45.5 yds -110 $25.00
total points scored between 57-63 +600 $50.00
Pittsburgh total score over 27 -110 $55.00
special total over 52.5 +180 $50.00

The last spread I saw was Pittsburgh-6.5 -120, which is nothing different than buying the half off of seven, but I might buy it down to six at -130, just because they didn't give you any more value by making it -120 at 6.5

I like your hedge bets. However, I think most people that are taking Pittsburgh based on their ability to shut down Arizona's offense are not considering the games that Pittsburgh lost this year. When reviewing the big plays they did give up (Indianapolis, Dallas and Tennessee games) it appears that their defensive aggresiveness was exploited by QBs throwing quick passes over the middle and seams.

I am sure that AZ will be ready to exploit this with Fitz and Boldin, which may lead to some quick scores. Furthermore, there are questions about Ben's mobility due to his bruised ribs. An immobile Ben and injured Hines Ward will severely limit Pittsburgh's big play ability.

The Steelers have been banged up most of the year due to their schedule. Their running game is healthy now, and Roethlisberger and several other Steelers have been here before. The offense has been getting stronger and will be too much for the Cardinals to contain. Throw in a defense that likes to score and it creates a formidable combination to go against. I don't think the Cardinals should have been the team to go. The playoffs just set them up in the best case scenario to get there. This game looks like a mismatch to me. There is alot of money going on the Cardinals, which doesn't bode well either. I have broken this game down to their cleats, so I hope my figures are right. I think the score will be 35-24 Steelers. As you mentioned about the Colts, who put up 24, the Cowboys 13, and I think you can throw that Tennessee game out since Pittsburgh had just clinched the division the week before. Tennessee needed that game because they squandered that game against Houston. Good luck, tomorrow, but I think it will be a solid Steeler victory.

well, I caught the over and a 8-1 safety bet that bailed me out, and a pass completion that went 38 yards in the first 59 seconds, and pushed the over 27 points scored for Pittsburgh, so I made out OK. I thought Pittsburgh had this game in hand in the first half, but I'll give credit to Arizona, they played a hell of a game. I wanted to hit that -10.5 bet and it looked good going in to the 4th quarter, I was sweating out the total at that point. I really didn't think the Card's stood a chance in this game, but they made the plays they needed to and almost pulled the upset. I would have liked that first no called touchdown to be worth 7 instead of 3, and I could of cleaned house. It was a good called game, and they didn't give nothing away as far as officiating was concerned. I'll be leaving for the pro bowl on wednesday, it's the last one in Hawaii for awhile, congats to all those that took Arizona vs the spread, I thought Pittsburgh tried to get a little conservitive after their 13 point lead, and it allways seems to bite them in the ass, they were lucky to win this game.

Nice catch on the safety vegas

Lots of chalk eaters went down on that one I think.

Taught me a lesson about locking in the best team on the money line.

My tools said Pitts would win but those tools do not guarantee a cover.

:'(

I only bet $10

😀

I couldn't of asked for a better first half, all the bets I made, I wound up -$215, I was hoping for one more score to get the over 52.5 prop. I knew that Roethlisberger touchdown that wound up being a field goal was going to bite me and alot of other Steeler bettors in a$$. That 4 point difference was big. I thought my total was dead, I think the under bettors got a bad beat on that one. It's really been a fun year and profitable year, with the exception of my left arm operation. I still have to deal with that when I get back from Hawaii, and then I'll be working on next years NFL book. Good Luck to everyone and I hope 2009 is the best year ever. VF

Have a good time in Hawaii, it's been a long year for sure. This feels like the longest one ever for me.

I have some stuff to do for the Daytona 500 in a couple weeks and then I am heading off to Mexico for some r-n-r myself

It has at that, this was the first year that I capped every single game and then input everything in my website. That is alot of work, I think I need a secretary!..lol I have been trying to persuade my wife to do the input duties, after I do the leg work, but her favorite show always seems to be on!..lol I'll probably play a little March Madness, but I'm taking a break till April, when the NFL schedules come out. I'm going to try to do two books this year. One for power ratings and the other for new head coach results. There is enough new head coaches this year to make some huge cash on. It's worked for three years in a row, so hopefully we are coming upon a great season for 2009. Have fun in Mexico, if you get a chance to visit Huatulco, it's a great little town, just south of Acapulco, just watch out for the fer de lance.
