College football couldn’t have asked for a better Thursday night matchup then the one it has tonight. The 4-0 Nebraska Cornhuskers will take on the 4-0 Kansas State Wildcats at 7:45PM ET and we’ve got a free pick for tonight’s Big 12 contest.
Before we get to our pick, let’s take a look at the odds for this game.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com currently list Nebraska as a 10.5-point favorite over Kansas State. The over/under total for this Week 6 matchup is currently 48 points.
The line movement for this game has been interesting to follow over the last week. The point spread opened at Kansas State +12, but then it immediately got bid up to 12.5. Then it dropped to 11.5 before rising back to 12 and now it’s all the way down at Nebraska –10.5.
Given that movement, one would think that the public is on the Wildcats tonight, but they’re not according to our college football public betting information. Of the 20,000-plus wagers on tonight’s game, 69% of the public favors the Huskers –10.5.
With how poorly Nebraska played two weeks ago against FCS South Dakota State (a 17-3 win), Kansas State would seem like a great value as the home dog. But our pick sides with the Huskers in this one.

Bo Pelini’s team should be plenty focused for this one and “rebound” off its sloppy win against South Dakota State. The road team in this series is 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two squads, while the Huskers are 8-1 against the number in their last nine games as a road favorite of 10.5 points or great.
