Lockoftheday

Today's Lock: Suns/Nuggets Under 218.5

We'll make a wager on the Suns/Nuggets Under tonight in the NBA. Carmelo Anthony is injured and the Nuggets really miss his scoring. The trade for Chauncey Billups slowed down their offense. Phoenix rarely scores over 110. It will be an up hill climb to get this total over 218.5.

Priceless Picks

1 Unit on Purdue -4

The Boilermakers are now healthy and are now ready to make a run at the Big Ten title. They started that quest officially a few days ago when they handed Wisconsin a double digit loss and now they are ready to take it to a struggling Wildcats team. Northwestern is 0-3 in the Big Ten and was handled with relative ease by Michigan State and Wisconsin. The Wildcats have lost 5 straight ATS and are 0-4 SU and ATS in all games against Purdue the last 3 seasons. Northwestern is 1-9 ATS in home games against conference opponents over the last 2 seasons, losing by an average score of 63.5 to 75.7 in these spots. Take the Boilermakers.

UCONN vs. ST.JOHNS FREE PICK

Connecticut has never swept a three-game road trip in Jim Calhoun's 23 seasons and following consecutive road victories, the fourth-ranked Huskies have the opportunity to do that tonight at Madison Square Garden if they can get past a St. John's team which pulled off an upset of a top-10 opponent in its last home game. Connecticut (14-1, 3-1) has won three straight overall including the first two games of its current stretch of three in a row on the road. The Huskies beat then-No. 25 West Virginia 61-55 on Jan. 6th and followed that up with a win last Saturday against Cincinnati winning 81-72. A.J. Price had 22 points,15 of them coming on five 3-pointers against the Bearcats bouncing back from a poor game versus the Mountaineers in which he missed all nine of his field-goal attempts.Price, a senior has had an easy time of it in two career games against the Red Storm (10-5, 1-2) totaling 40 points including a team-leading 25 in last season's 81-65 win at home. That win was the seventh straight over St. John's for the Huskies who have won the last three meetings at Madison Square Garden. The Red Storm knocked off then-No. 7 Notre Dame 71-65 on Jan. 3 but that was their only win in the last five games. After that, they got blown out 90-67 at top-ranked Pittsburgh on Sunday which was their ninth straight defeat against an opponent ranked in the top five. Sophomore D.J. Kennedy had a team-high 18 points Sunday and is averaging 19.0 points and shooting 61.1 percent in the last two games. Kennedy's 13.3 points per game leads the team as injuries have hobbled most of the St. John's starting lineup. The Red Storm lost starting forward Anthony Mason Jr. for the season in November to a foot injury and point guard Malik Boothe has missed the last four games due to a thumb injury. Boothe's status is unknown for this game as is the status of starting forward Justin Burrell. Burrell aggravated his back in Sunday's game and played 18 minutes. He had a team-leading 17 points in last season's loss to UConn.Playing a third game on the road is tough for any College Basketball team. St. Johns always plays hard at home and is capable of beating a Top 10 team. After the embarrasing loss to Pitt when they didn"t come ready to play, they will give their best effort tonight and stay within the number.
TAKE ST.JOHNS+12
