Saints PK
The Saints picked up a much needed win in their second week off their bye. They will use that win as momentum for this home game on Monday night. Back the home team to get it done in prime time.
Both teams here could probably win this game, however you must factor in home field advantage to this matchup. The Saints are 4-1 SU/4-1 ATS this season at home and we must follow this pattern again on Monday night. The line opened at 2.5 and has quickly been driven down to a PK or -1 in most places. This is due to betting public action on Green Bay for the most part that has spun this line down a pick-em. This makes New Orleans a must play in front of the home crowd, which is vital on Monday night.
In fact, the last prime time matchup for the Saints didn't go well against the Vikings (Also from the NFC North), and revenge will be sweet for the Saints who look to redeem themselves. Further, it's no secret that the Saints still have the chance at making the playoffs, possibly in a wild-card situation, and a win here over Green Bay will seriously help their cause. This is a team that runs off momentum and a 5 game winning streak to close the season is not out of line for such a deadly offense, especially when there are 3 home games remaining. Their remaining schedule is tough though, but it all starts tonight with a win over NFC foe Green Bay to get the wheels spinning.
The Saints have a major advantage on special teams and in the big play area. Bush should be ready to go in this one who has the ability to return kicks and put the Saints in good field position for gunslinger Drew Brees. This QB is the most prolific and dangerous passer in the NFL, period. You never know when the deep ball is coming, and you know it's coming. As you saw against Dallas, Green Bay was susceptible against the long ball as Romo hit Miles Austin on a 70 yard pass to set up a TD in the second half. Thats was in Green Bay outdoors in the cold. This game is in a dome and when you have the most dynamic QB in the league, this is a dangerous situation for any visiting team. Needless to say, a few game changing plays to this talented core of receivers including Colston, Bush, Henderson, Patton, Moore, Meachem; and this game could be long over with one deep pass.
Last, but not least. One more factor in this game is the Saints feeling of being robbed in that home game earlier this season against the Vikings on Monday night. There were some terrible calls in that game to say the least. The most controversial was the obvious pulled face-mask on Reggie Bush, that caused a fumble. This happened right in front of a ref, who did not call the obvious penalty. Instead of a TD (Saints were in the red zone), the Vikings got the ball and that turnover proved to cost them the game. The Saints have not forgotten this, and they get a chance to punch back against a team from the same division. This spells a huge motivation factor and a highly due Saints football team that should have luck/karma on their side for this game.
Trust in the arm of Brees and back the Saints at home!
Good call 'Prime'
Thanks Pod, I have to say, it was by far one the easier MNF games of this season. Even though I am saying this after the fact, I had zero doubt that the Saints would win, zero. The world was on Green Bay last night and they had zero value at a PK. A good line for Green Bay according to my prime time game betting system (a system I have worked on for several years) would have been 7.5 points. But, getting no points on Monday night, are you kidding?
The key with playing underdogs in any prime time game is getting line value, and for a road team on Monday night, getting no points against a potentially explosive offense, it was a simple play. The oddsmakers crushed the betting public, which was nice to see after a wild weekend where the betting public scarfed down most of the action. See you next Monday!
Great call again Prime, you are the man!!! Can't wait for yur next play ;D Good luck in the future!
NICE CALL
