4 Unit Play.Take Over 202 with the Phoenix Suns @ Memphis Grizzlies.

If you noticed, I follow the Grizzlies very, very closely. They are a team that can be extremely dynamic at home which makes for some great overs. After all, they hammered the Rockets at home if you remember, and that game went over. They nearly covered against the Spurs on the road as they lost in overtime by a bucket. This is a young team that can step up at the right times, similar to the OKC Thunder who I took yesterday against the Suns at +9.5 and it cashed. If OKC can be competitive against the Suns, then why not a team like Memphis who comes off a near outright win as double-digit dogs to San Antonio on the road. I don't know if you had some time to see that game, but it was great to see these young crop of guys step up. As per this game, Nash and O'Neal likely won't play. And, regardless if they do or don't, I like the over. As soon as it was announced that they were questionable, the total came down 5 points. Really? Yes, when some players are out, the scoring will be lower. But, with the Suns, their philosophy of the Suns, their strategy does not change. This team will still run and gun. After all, this team still has Jason Richardson, Amare and Grant Hill and their young guards will get a chance to show their stuff today. Is it that hard that a team that features Amare, Hill and Richardson can't score over a 100, especially when they play a team like Memphis who also likes to run and gun? Look for Memphis to be an active dog, the middle opens up a bit more with no Diesel and on top of that, you have and look for a lot more perimeter shots to take place which favors the over Memphis is a team that puts up an average of 20, 3 pointers a game and Phoenix shoots a similar number. Memphis will keep pushing this total to the over as they push the Suns to their limit and this total will likely go over 210.

5 Unit Play. College Basketball GOW: Take Niagara -5 over Chattanooga

I have rode Niagara all season long as I did the research on this team will in advance before the season started. They covered for us against Villanova at the start of the year, covered against St. Bonny and covered against Murray State just yesterday. Heck, Niagara is 10-2 SU and 11-1 ATS and they are my favorite to win this tournament in Tennessee this week. I have rode them twice already this tournament week so why I would I not ride them again? They face the home team in Chattanooga here and that is why the spread is so low. Just to give you some background, Niagara is a top 70 team. They are rock solid. If you have read my take on this team every week you have come to learn that this team is not fazed by playing on the road. This team beat a Big East team in South Florida by 15 on the road, they beat by Drexel by 5 on the road, they beat St. Bonny by 18 on the road and now they face a Chattanooga team that is ranked in the top 250. All of these teams they have defeated are inside the top 150 for the most part. So, they beat such teams on the road by double-digits. Now, they face a team in Chattanooga that is ranked around the top 250. Heck, even Murray State was a team ranked in the top 175 who Niagara just played yesterday and beat by 9 in a game they did not play well in the first half. Yes, Chattanooga defeated Tennessee Wesleyan 102-70. But, want to know something about Tennessee Wesleyan? They are not even a Division 1 team and consequently have no power rankings. In fact, the other two wins include Tennessee Temple is another team that is not Division 1 either. The third win for Chattanooga was against Mississippi Valley who is outside the top 300 in the nation and is rated one of the worst teams in all of division 1 basketball who they defeated by 4 points on the road. Niagara is known for sound defense, and one of the best 70 teams in the country in my rankings playing a team hovering around the top 240-260 or so. If Niagara can beat teams ranked 150 and higher and some teams by 15 points on the road who are ranked around 160, and have covered to the tune of 11-1 ATS and comes off a slow first half against Murray State so likely will be focused more in the first half of this game, I expect them to do well here against Chattanooga who have 2 of their 3 wins in the season coming against teams not even in Division 1 basketball and the other team rated as one of the worst teams in the nation. Now, do note that many of Chattanooga's losses comes against some of the better teams in the country like Tennessee, Alabama, Davidson (who they played very tough), Southern Cal and even Memphis as they are looking to build their program so they travel and receive money from these schools. So, it's a game of offense vs. defense and I will take the defensive team here in Niagara. This should be a tight game in the first half and then Niagara should start pulling away just like they did against Murray State. This will be a fun game but I just think that Niagara will be more focused in the first half and will make the necessary adjustments in the second half as they did against Murray State as they went from being down by around 10 at half to winning the game by 9 in the end covering a similar 5 point chalk. Niagara is 11-1 ATS on the season.
