Bradley at Indiana State
Prediction: Bradley

I do not like laying points in this conference but sometimes the situations calls for it and this is one of those. Home court advantage is really big in the Missouri Valley Conference as nine of the 10 teams have winning home records with the lone exception being Indiana St. The Sycamores are just 2-5 at home this season with one of those wins coming against Division III DePauw and the other coming in their last game on Saturday against Illinois St. in overtime. That huge win is the first reason why the situation calls for a play against Indiana St.The second reason is that Bradley is coming off a loss on Saturday at home against Creighton. It was the Braves first conference loss and they will be ready to bounce back against a very inferior opponent. That loss snapped a five-game winning streak which was needed after a relatively slow start to the season. The Braves lost to Florida, Michigan St. and Butler early in the year and those three teams are currently 41-5 so they can take comfort in knowing they lost to some elite competition.Making matters worse for the Sycamores is that their best player will be out tonight. Guard Harry Marshall, Indiana St's leading scorer at 14 ppg, went down with a strained hamstring and had to be helped off the court in the last game against the Redbirds. Marshall has been the Sycamores leader after missing the first eight games when he was academically ineligible. Indiana St. is 3-5 with him in the lineup but only 1-7 without him so his limited action has definitely made this team better. The Bradley defense is playing really well right now and that help here as the Braves are 26-9 ATS in their last 35 games after allowing 30 points or less in the first half in two straight games. Also, after 15 or more games, they are 28-12 ATS against teams that force fewer than 14 turnovers per game. Indiana St. forces only 11.7 per game. The Sycamores have lost all three games following a win this season and by an average of 17 ppg and they are 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a win. 5* Bradley Braves

Bradley at Indiana State
Pick: Bradley -1.5

Bradley is clearly the superior team to Indiana State in this Missouri Valley Conference matchup. The Braves score better, shoot better, rebound better and play better defense than the Sycamores.

Indiana State is averaging 62.1 points, which is the second-lowest of the 10 teams in the Missouri Valley. Bradley is 8-0 this season when holding foes under 70 points. Indiana State probably is going to be without its leading scorer and assist leader, point guard Harry Marshall. He suffered a hamstring injury on Saturday night and is doubtful. This is really bad for the Sycamores, not just because of their limited scoring, but also because backup point guard Tyler Cutter is out with an ankle injury.

Indiana State is 1-5 against the spread at home. Its lone win came Saturday as 10-point 'dogs against Illinois State in overtime. Before that win, Indiana State had lost and failed to cover in its last three games falling to Drake, Evansville and Creighton by a combined margin of 51 points.

Bradley, meanwhile, suffered its first conference loss on Saturday losing to Creighton at home. Prior to that, the Braves had won their last five games, including away matchups against Missouri State and Wichita State. Bradley has beaten Indiana State in 10 of the last 14 meetings.
