Updated 2014 Super Bowl Odds to Win - Broncos, 49ers Remain Favored
By Anthony Rome

(The Spread) - With Week 1 upon us, let's take a look at the updated 2014 Super Bowl odds for every team.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Broncos and 49ers are co-favorites to win the 2014 Super Bowl at 6/1, respectively. The Seahawks have the next-best odds at 17/2, while the Patriots are 10/1 and the Falcons and Packers are both 12/1, respectively. The Texans are also 16/1 and the Saints are 18/1.

Despite being co-favorites, the 49ers and Broncos have their question marks heading into the season. San Francisco lost its best playmaker when Michael Crabtree fell victim to an Achilles injury this offseason, while Denver lost its best defensive player Von Miller to six games due to a suspension. Both situations put a lot of pressure on quarterbacks Colin Kaepernick and Peyton Manning to carry the team, although San Francisco has a great running game and defense to complement Kaepernick's unique playing style.

As for the Seahawks, they too lost an important weapon this offseason when it was discovered that receiver Percy Harvin needs to have hip surgery. He's likely to miss the entire season, although just like San Francisco, Seattle has a stout running game and defense to lean on to help keep the team afloat.

As for the Patriots, they had a rather tumultuous offseason in the wake of Rob Gronkowski's back surgery and Aaron Hernandez's immediate release following his arrest in the murder of Odin Lloyd. The team also parted ways with receiver Wes Welker (Broncos), and replaced him with an injury prone Danny Amendola.

The Falcons don't have many weaknesses, especially on offense where their core group is Matt Ryan, Roddy White, Julio Jones, Tony Gonzalez and newcomer Steven Jackson. Questions remain about their defense (specifically their pass rush) and offensive line, but they should score points in bunches this season. The Packers and Saints, ironically, have similar makes to their teams.
