Virginia Tech (6-3) vs Miami (6-3)

Here we are again... In the ladder part of the season when teams are trying to make it to a "BOWL". Well this game is as important as any, the winner will be at the very least tied for (2nd in the division)... Something to think about for Beamer and Shannon.

I break it down like this... the line is Miami -4.5. Well lets look it,

Miami for the 08' season are sitting at a (67% record), well if you look a little deeper as I did you might find that Miami has a good looking (63% ATS record)... well thas fine and dandy with the exception that they have been the FAV on average (56% of the season) by an average line of Miami (-1.5). Good stuff isnt it? (*exception Florida they were a (24 point DOG) but they covered "BARELY!!" Even better Miami has been getting stiff against the run, by that I mean they have only allowed Oppoonents to get an average of (2.7) yards a carry, I know... WOW! That compared to their own (4.1) yards a carry is i significant difference. Now look at the line again makes it look a little closer to a good line. I would mention that Miami has accrued an average of (135 yards a game)... now with that being said, in those (4 games) where they rushed for (135 yards or more) they have averaged over (40 points on offense and only allowed a staggering (22 point average for their opponent)... That is (75%) SU and (67%) ATS (impressive.)

Virginia Tech for the 08' season are also sitting at a (67%) record, and looking at them a little deeper you would find... that if you have been taking the HOKIES to cover the line you would be sitting at a bank crashing (38% ATS). There are some things that say that this (38% ATS) should not be, and I have found them and wanted to share them with you all.. Virginia Tech has averaged over (170 yards rushing per game this season) that usually means ball control.. In looking at the games this season where the HOKIES have gained (170 yards on the ground or more) they have been favored by just over half a point... and outscored their opponent (26-17) but still only stacked up a (1-3 record) thats (25% ATS).

Now the gummy stuff...

Miami (Total Yards has the edge)
VT (Rushing yards has the edge)

Thanks to all... My pick MIAMI

Virginia Tech looked so damn good last week but how often does that carry over to the next week ? not very,I am staying away from this game and will just watch it instead of sweating it.

I should probably do the same thing blade.... but I just "glutton for punishment" (grin)...

I also looked at some things as far as Head-To-Head...

VT has outscored Miami 23-12 since 03' and.... VT has out rushed Miami an average of 142-94 yards per game on the ground. I know trends are dangerous but when they look good to me I usually dig in to find things that make me feel pretty confident. I could very well be wrong... but I am optimistic... 8)
