RED SHEET
TEXAS A&M 48 - Louisiana Tech 17 - (7:00 EDT) -- Line opened at TexasA&M minus 17, and is now minus 18½. As you can see, all six college top plays have seen the line move in the wrong direction, including a couple of near TD changes. In this contest, we have one of the most potent offenses in the land, going against a relatively green "D". Led by QB Johnson, who last year set several school records including 3,579 PYs ( TDs & only 8 picks (also ran for >500 yds), the Ags can move it. Add RB tandem of Michael & Gray, & 'Dogs could be in for a long day. We have been all over Tech a as host of late, as the homer is on an 18-5 ATS run in their contests. Aggie "D" (shaky in '09) returns 9 starters. RATING: TEXAS A&M 89
Georgia Tech 33 - KANSAS 10 - (12:00) -- Line opened at GeorgiaTech minus 7, and is now minus 13½. Almost unheard of line move, & that normally would be reason enough to place this one in the "Near Choices" category. However, respected sources put the Jackets as at least another TD better than the Jays. From the heights of their 12-1 '07 record (opened 11-0), to a combined 13-12 in '08 & '09, things now go from bad to worse for KU (1 cover since 9/19/ 10). The departure of QB Reesing has left that Jay "O" cupboard bare (<300 yds vs NorthDakotaSt), & check allowing 38.6 ppg in 7 of their last 8 lined games. Enter the Jackets, who are at 37.5 ppg in their last 10 regular season lined tilts, & who excel away. RATING: GEORGIA TECH 89
OKLAHOMA STATE 41 - Troy 17 - (7:00) -- Line opened at OklahomaSt minus 7½, and is now minus 13½. Near identical line move as above contest, but Cowboys still the call. Sure, Troy has made its mark of late, with 5 of 6 winning seasons, including 4 bowl appearances, but they've a ton of work to do, if they are to get back to their recent standards. Start with replacing 8 defensive starters, including all down linemen, as well as another 5 on the offense. Squeaking win over BG (final 0:04) hardly bodes well for facing the likes of 'Poke RB Hunter (257 RYs, 4 TDs LW), & Co. Troy lost its 2nd game LY by a 56-6 count. RATING: OKLAHOMA STATE 88
Michigan 34 - NOTRE DAME 24 - (8:00 - NBC) -- Line opened at NotreDame minus 6, and is now minus 3½. A week ago, we wrote the wrong team was favored in the Michigan/UConn game, but that simply wasn't the case. Always competitive, the Huskies just couldn't contain the electrifying Wolverine QB, Robinson, who seemed a clone of QB Pat White, who guided WestVirginia to 4 consecutive bowl wins (school record). No less than 28 FDs for UM, in its demolition of the Huskies. Irish off on the right foot in Kelly era, & are certainly on the rise. But managed just 2 TDs in that opener. Series dog a spectacular 22-4 ATS. Again. RATING: MICHIGAN 88
Texas Tech 59 - NEW MEXICO 13 - (8:00) -- Line opened at TexasTech minus 23, and is now minus 24½. Sure, this one is a roadster for the Raiders (15-23 ATS away since '03), have Texas on deck, & are without Mike Leach, who was never adverse to going for the impressive win. But, make no mistake, they are again an offensive force (40 ppg in their last 15 lined tilts), behind either Potts (359 PYs, 4 TDs vs SMU), or Sheffield. Thus, the only Lobo hope is to try to match pts (as SMU did vs Tech LW), but they're in off allowing 72 pts & 720 yds, which only extended their '09 futility (36-16 ppg deficit). And they have Utah dead ahead. RATING: TEXAS TECH 88
Cincinnati 24 - NEW ENGLAND 22 - (1:00 -- Line opened at NewEngland minus 4, and is now minus 4½. Bucking the Pats, in Foxboro, on opening day, may not seem the most prudent of plays, but the fact of the matter is that the visitor has covered the past 4 NewEngland openers, including LY's 25-24 squeaking Patriot win over the Bills, as 13-pt chalks. We know that it is nearly impossible to accept the fact that the Pats have aged, which even the brilliant Belichick can't prevent. The Bengals, on the other hand, are a team on the rise: solid on "D", & explosive on "O" (even more so, with addition of T.O.). Dog 14-2 in Cincy games. RATING: CINCINNATI 88

NINE-RATED GAMES
BUFFALO (+3) vs. Miami (NFL)—Bills have won and covered last five meetings in Orchard Park (Dolphins won two years ago in Toronto); Buffalo players have taken to Chan Gailey’s improved offense.
TOTALS:
OVER (45) in the Cincinnati-New England game—Welker back sooner than expected for Pats, who love new TE Gronkowski; Bengals receivers enhanced by Welker-like rookie Shipley & TE Gresham, not to mention the physical T.O.
OVER (48) in the Green Bay-Philadelphia game—Aaron Rodgers better protected TY, but Packer defense is missing starting DBs Harris & Bigby, so Philly’s offensive speed should keep the Eagles firing away.
