It would be simple to assume that Chief Justice John Roberts is a screw up: First, Roberts seemed to hesitate in the first part of the oath, prompting Obama to start in with "I Barack Hussein Obama," as Roberts continued on with the rest, causing a verbal traffic jam.
Then, Roberts changed the wording of the Presidential oath, misplacing the word "faithfully", and obliged a bemused Obama to incorrectly repeat after him. In short, those 35 words that should have gone without a hitch, will forever go down in history as the way not to swear in a president.
But I suspect something much more sinister.
I believe that the dirty, rotten, partisan politics that candidate Obama ran to get rid of, is alive and well in all of George Bush's appointees.
And that would include the Chief Justice.
I suspect that Roberts was attempting to play "Gotchya" with the President.
Regardless, the man should be ashamed of himself, and everyone who applauded Roberts' appointment to the bench should be shocked that the Chief Justice could do such a horrible thing, whether accidentally, or otherwise.
