Critics have decried the spending of tax dollars to create new jobs, on principle, as well as using tax dollars to keep those already employed at work.

The litany of complaints also includes cries about the lack of "shovel-ready" jobs, and federal bail-outs for our troubled states.

This is in spite of the fact that most of the tax dollars that were to go to the states were precisely for "shovel-ready" projects, and that federally subsidizing workers is a better way to keep America at work and engaged in our economy, than sending them off to the unemployment line.

It would appear that no matter what the President does, his critics will be there, ready to pounce; There's a lot more of the "loyal opposition," besides Rush Limbaugh, who want to see the new President fail.

The President's stimulus package creates or saves 3 to 4 million jobs in the next two years, averts literally hundreds of thousands of teacher layoffs—and doubles funding for the Department of Education, creates 500,000 green jobs and doubles our clean energy production (a campaign promise that the American voters endorsed), and immediately helps unemployed folks get affordable health insurance.

The only alternative "suggestions" that the nay-sayers have proposed have all revolve around the failed Reagan-era "Trickle Down" economic theories of the 1980's - policies which have already been tried, and which have been shown to be devastating to our national economy.

25+ years of Reaganomics have shown that, in our global economy, as soon as an employer can afford to move his business off-shore to take advantage of foreign workers who have little freedom to change their lot in life, that is exactly what will be done. The simple fact is, a foreign work force earning slave wages is more profitable for an employer. The jobs that remain behind earn our domestic workers low wages, and little, or no, benefits.

If tax-cuts are all that the President's critics can think off, they need to be reminded that our last President lowered taxes, doubled our national debt, and we STILL found ourselves tittering on the edge of a financial abyss. Additionally, even if business owners had ZERO taxes to pay, it would still be cost effective for businesses to move overseas, provided that they had the capital to do so.

And for many businesses, that's exactly what tax-cuts to the rich provide.

The President's opposition had their chance to clean up the mess that they had made - and were found to be incapable of doing so.

It's time now, to let our new President stand up and lead the way, and to tell the nay-sayers to sit down, and to get out of the way.

Democrats have only controlled congress since 2006 and then only barely, the Repubs fillibustered more between 2006-08 than at anytime in history. Republicans caused this problem - they've controlled congress since 94. The fun is just beginning. PAYBACKS WILL BE GREAT
