In less than three weeks, there will be a big special election in Upstate New York. This election will fill the House seat left vacant by Secretary Hillary Clinton's successor in the U.S. Senate, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

The choice is clear – Democratic candidate Scott Murphy, who will be a strong ally of President Obama in Congress versus Republican Jim Tedisco, another out-of-touch 'just say no' Republican.

In a district with a significant Republican enrollment edge, Democrat Scott Murphy has slashed Tedisco's 21-point lead to just four, 45%-41%.

After this latest poll, Michael Steele's Republican National Committee sent another $100,000 into the state to try to stave off our momentum. The election is March 31st so there are just two-and-a-half weeks to go. Your generous support could make all the difference as we race to the finish line.

With so much other big news happening, we're pleased to bring you the next edition of @Stake, a collection of the latest breaking news of what's at stake in this year of big change for America.

It's a sprint to the finish in the big special election in New York's 20th Congressional District.

There's a lot at stake in this race. Our Democratic candidate is Scott Murphy, a proven leader when it comes to creating jobs and a strong supporter of President Obama's economic agenda. The Republicans are running a corrupt career politician who is dedicated to continuing George W. Bush's failed economic policies.

The RNC has flooded the district with dishonest ads so its up to us to help Scott Murphy set the record straight.

Check out the DCCC's latest hard-hitting TV ad »

RNC Chair Michael Steele Apologizes...again and again...

Embattled RNC Chair Michael Steele has become a walking, talking apology machine. First it was Steele's groveling apology to the Republican Party's de facto boss Rush Limbaugh after Steele called him out on television.

This week's mea culpa from Chairman Steele? After telling a reporter that he supports 'individual choice' when it comes to a woman's right to choose, Steele quickly remembered that he's chair of the Republican National Committee. POLITICO: Steele, under fire, walks back 'choice' remark »

Stay tuned for the next apology by Chairman Steele.

Stem Cell Ban Lifted

This week, President Obama lifted George W. Bush's ban on federal funding for stem cell research.

As Speaker Pelosi said after attending the White House ceremony, "Today's ceremony was more than eight years in the making. With one stroke of his pen, President Obama has given hope and potentially health to millions of Americans."

Tens of thousands of DCCC supporters signed our thank you card to President Obama. If you haven't already, please sign our card to President Obama expressing your thanks for lifting the ban on federal funding for stem cell research.

Stay tuned for future editions of @ Stake for the latest news and headlines from the campaign trail. Thank you again for driving and supporting our people-powered movement to change the direction of our country.

No one has asked you to join. If we are the party of liars, then the Dums are certainly the party of a liar. Obama has broken more campaign promises in two months than you have used this same old worn out line, "party of no, tax cuts and the iraq war, etc. etc. etc." Alzheimer's is a terrible disease. Hopefully with the new stem cell reversal, we can find you a cure Pop ;D
