my plays are rated the following way......

best bets (3 units)
strong plays (2 units)
regular play (1 unit)
opinions (1/2 unit)

in case some of you are wondering, i am a pretty small bettor. a one unit play for me is $22 to win $20. there for my bets go like this......

best bets ($66 to win $60)
strong plays ($44 to win $40)
regular plays ($22 to win $20)
opinions ($11 to win $10)

i know alot of you out there are betting alot more than this and might even laugh at the small amount that i wager, but i wonder how many of you bet small like this and how many load up. for me, gambling is fun and i love to do it, but i have to pay my bills first. just because my plays are small does not mean they do not have any value.

i am not off to that great of a start. i am much better in the colleges than the pros. actually i have not had alot of success betting the pros. it is crazy how i keep on trying. my pattern over the years is to win money on saturday and give most of it back on sunday. maybe that will change this year. i know that i have a good time doing it. gambling is a form of entertainment to me, not a way of life or certainly a living.

last week i lost my best bet with colorado state, that really hurt. when i went to bed they were in control. of course i woke up the next morning to a loss. i was dead wrong on my only strong play with syracuse. i think i read too much into the previous weeks games. they say you are never as good or as bad as your last game.

** if some of these lines seem off to you, it is because that is the line when i placed my bet and it could have changed from the time i post my picks (usually thursday or friday). GGOD LUCK EVERYBODY!!

best bets (0-1 last week) (1-1 year)
strong plays (0-1 last week) (1-2 year)
regular plays (0-0-1 last week) (1-2-1 year)
opinions (2-2 last week) (5-5 year)

overall (2-4-1 last week) (8-10-1 year)

lets start with the thursday night game..........

over 58.5 virginia tech/marshall (opinion)................i think marshall will give them a game, but that don't mean they will cover. i think the best choice here is the over. i know marshall is going to get its points, and i know va tech will certainly get theirs. i see at least 65 here.

mississippi +4.5 over texas tech (best bet).........i like ole miss to get the victory here, but i am going to play it safe and grab the points instead of the moneyline. i really like miss's qb alot. the only advantage i see for texas tech is playing at home. most power ratings have ole miss as the fav in this one. i agree.

tulane +8 over e carolina (strong play)..............tulane is 2-0, while e carolina is 0-2.as far as starters back, both have six on offense with no qb. on the defense e carolina has 6 back while tulane has 11. i have always liked betting on teams with their entire defense returning. e carolina will get the win playing at home this week giving tulane their first loss, but not by more than a touchdown. take the points.

colorado st -2.5 over louisville (regular play)..........i have been on colorado state in all of their games this year and i am not going to stop now. state should be 3-0 against very good compition and louisville is way too unpredictable. state at home minus less than a field goal is a great deal. state by at least 10.

pittsburgh -6.5 over uab (regular play).......playing at uab will keep this game farly close. pitt has a very good defense and will not have any trouble holding uab to 17 or less. pitts offense looked sluggish vs texas a&m, but this is not texas a&m's defense they are facing this week. pitt 30-17.

the rest of these plays are opinions...................

california +14 over michigan state (just too many points here)

michigan -3.5 over notre dame (irish have no offense, won't get lucky again)

iowa state +3.5 over iowa (wrong team favored here)

toledo +7 over minnesota (power ratings play, should have taken this while it was 8)

penn state +5.5 over nebraska (paterno at home with two weeks to prepare vs over rated huskers)

WOW, I'm impressed!

Let me be the first to say thanks for the post and the info.

Regardless of the size of your bet your plays and analysis are always welcome here. Especially with posts like that. Anything else you have to share I am all ears.

Good luck Saturday, I will be looking at a few of those games with you.

Thanks for hopping in the mix with the rest of us...
