Buyer beware!! Things are getting a bit tricky in the NFL, and many questions remained to be answered. Are the Saints really that good? Are the Steelers really that bad? Is Carolina for real? As we pass the quarter pole of the NFL season, these questions as well as other will be answered. Remember sometimes the best play is to pass.

10/6 Play: WASHINGTON +5.5, -110

Reason: At first glance, this looks like a curious play. But, if you take a close look at these teams several factors stand out. First, the Tennesse Titans defense is injured and young. The biggest loss is Samari Rolle, the leader of the secondary. He will be replaced by Mark Echols who has been getting lit up in the past few games. The Titans start several rookies who have yet to prove that they can stop anyone. Tank William, Albert Haynesworth and Carlos Hall (who has one good game and suddenly he is the next Javon Kearse). This is a defense ranked 26th overall and 29th against the pass.
Now look at the Redskins who are coming off a bye week giving Steve Spurrier and Marvin Lewis two weeks to game plan for the Titans. Do we think that the defense is as bad as they have shown in the past few games?NO. It take time for a new unit to come together, and did we mention that Washington has had two weeks to prepare? Are we worried about Danny Weurffel starting in place of Shane Mathews? In a word.. NO. There is little or no difference between the two quarterbacks. Look for a solid game plan from Spurrier and Lewis and look for the defense to start to come together.
This is as much a play against a young and hurt Titans team as it is a play on a rested Washington team...Take the points.

We hope you enjoyed our complimentary selection as our underdog won outright. We are up over 13 units YTD at www.thebettorsedge.com. Simply click on our past peformance. We also post our record from last season when we won 9 units. The NBA is coming up and we can't wait!! But, lets stick to the NFL tonight....Here is our complimentary selection.

10/7 Play: Chi/GB OVER 44, -110

Reason: You do not have to look any farther than the injury report to make this play. Both team are suffering multiple losses on defense. The Bears will be without Ted Washington and three other startes, R.W. McQuarters, Phillip Daniels, are questionable and Warrick Holdman is out for the season. Then take a look at Green Bay, where they are missing Antuan Edwards and Vonnie Holiday with Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, Mike McKenzie, and pro bowl safety Darren Sharper are probable which means they are less than 100 percent.
We figure that the team that wins this game will have to do it on offense. We look for this game to be an old fashion shoot-out. Our numbers are calling for Green Bay to score between 24 and 31 points, while we have Chicago scoring between 23 and 30 points.
