I've been following consenusus reports for years now, And a major problem that i see people having is that they take different services every night. I mean some of you would pass up on a guy hitting 70% cause you see that Mike Cunt has his game of the year and it cant lose right. Wrong thats how you empty out all your funds.
Theres good guys on cashes report, no need to go with any other pay consenusus as far as i'm concerned. If everyone can stick to one service who consistently hits year to year in the season sport I gaurentee you will make money.

good luck

Agree and Disagree.

I agree with your logic and everything but the fact of the matter is that almost all the people I feature on the report are just marketing machines. Very few of the names you see even exist. They are just names of companies that have enough money to buy ad campaigns and spread their name. Very few of them really know anything about sports but the do know how to make money.

How do you think they get someone that barely has $100 to give it all to them for a Game of the Year. That is all a bunch of bullshit. Granted, a lot of them have good records. But that isn't because they know shit about sports.

The people all of us should be following are people like Ben Burns and Robert B Irish. Those are the "Handicappers" People that make their selections at a monitor site and then people can go in and view their records and see if they are full of shit or not. I anticipate that the Service Report concept will die out in the next couple years in lieu of the next generation like these two who actually have documented records people can view and work from that.

I mean seriously, where can you go and view Doc's record or Jim Fiest's record? They post it on their site and use it in their ads and what not but I hope everyone knows that is just a bunch of crap. I can fabricate a number and be the best handicapper anywhere if nobody is looking over my shoulder and is watching what I pick.

On the other side of the consensus thing is the pay service like my free service. The only difference is they have the clout to have everyone where I don't. And maybe most importantly they keep records so you can at least keep track of the picks that are released. That may or may not be an actual indication of how they do as a capper but at least it allows you to know how they did on the plays that were posted at that site.

Thoughts? Might be a good discussion day!

I agree with you MC. Most of the services featured on these reports are scammers. The "leaders" of these services are educated in marketing, not sports handicapping. There are very good cappers out there that are worth spending your money on to get their selections day in and day out. I personally get my selections from a well known, honest guy. I have not had a losing year in 3 years playing his games. Also, I would never post his selections on any site out of respect for all of the work he does.

In the long run, you will get burned playing Feist's GOY or Stu Feiners million star "guaranteed to win or the rest of your life free picks."

Pick a service and ride it out. Do some research. An honest capper will not take your name, telephone number, social security number and mother's maiden name. You should be able to pick up the phone and speak directly to the guy.

Just my 2 cents, for anyone who listens.

Thanks.

I'm listening and I like what you have to say on the subject.

Bottom line is I have the service reports because people like them. Out of the 40 I have for hoops and 80 I have to football maybe 10-15 of each are worth a f*ck. And that is the straight-up truth.

Like I said about Ben and Robert, they sell their selections sure but they also give you an outlet to view how those selections have done. Where is Wayne Root monitored? That is the whole thing, stats don't lie. Commercials do. He actually has stock for Christ's sake. What handicapper you know would ever even be thinking of taking his sports service public?

Bottom line is that a pay service will provide you with an avenue to get records and what not but that is only because they do them, not cause those guys are monitored. What I provide gives a consensus more then anything else. The true cappers are the ones with proven records they aren't afraid to share!

Hopefully, you didn't take my post the wrong way. What you do with the free service picks is great and much appreciated. I just hate it when people get suckered in to thinking that a high profile sports service means it has to be a good service. I'm glad to see we are on the same page with that thought.

I don't know Robert Irish, but I'll bet that he answers the phone himself when you call. Now just try to get Joe Wiz on the line!

Thanks again for the site. It is a good one that I am sure will catch on as people become more aware of it.

MC I agree with what you said , i have the outmost respect for robertirish, hes great. but lets say if you played all maxwells games this year ( even though he's on a slump now) you would be up some good cash.
I know what pay services hit year to year in all the sports , and i stick to them and dont buy into others goy's . I must say i havent had a bad season yet.

thanks for the reply
