Seattle is hosting Anaheim for the first time this season. The Mariners swept a four-game series against their division rivals at Edison Field from April 8-11.
Lefthander Jamie Moyer (2-1, 3.52 ERA) seeks his third straight victory for the Mariners. He has lasted just five innings in his last two starts but has gotten a pair of victories.
Moyer posted a 7-4 triumph in his last outing at Oakland on Wednesday, surrendering three runs and six hits. He did not face the Angels in Anaheim.
The Angels counter with lefthander Scott Schoeneweis (1-2, 5.14), who has dropped his last two outings, including a 8-4 setback to the Mariners on April 11, when he yielded all eight runs over 5 2/3 innings.
Anaheim is coming off a heartbreaking 6-5 loss to the Oakland Athletics as closer Troy Percival gave up a three-run homer to Greg Myers in the bottom of the ninth.
Anaheim lost three of four to the Athletics and has dropped four of its last five contests overall.
