Five Things You Need to Know in Sports

Want to start your sports day off right? Looking for some action and the most exciting matchups of the day? There are two football games tonight and two MLB playoff games. Here is a brief look at the top four important matchups of the day along with future odds.

Both teams are coming off byes. Two weeks ago, Pitt defeated FCS-member Gardner-Webb, 55-10, while Syracuse lost at Minnesota, 17-10. Last year: PITTSBURGH (-8.5) over Syracuse, 33-20. RB Ray Graham leads a resurgent Panthers squad while QB Ryan Nassib anchors the Orange attack. Fave is 7-2 ATS L9 in series. Syracuse is a 1.5-point favorite with a total of 58.

Chipper Jones doesn't want to his career to end tonight as the Braves will host the defending World Series-champion St. Louis Cardinals on Friday in the National League's one-game wild card playoff.
