Top Betting Odds for Friday

Get ready for the weekend by taking in a great night of hoops. While close-minded bettors are waiting for the NFL and Army/Navy this weekend, the sharps know that they can find a score in basketball with some soft lines. You've a big schedule from the NBA tonight, followed by a few college games but we'll focus on the TV games. If you need some assistance in hoops, try ATS Sports Line as we have a monster weekend coming up.

Let's get started with some roundball!

LA Lakers (9-10 SU, 8-11 ATS) at Oklahoma City (15-4 SU, 13-5-1 ATS)

The Lakers are going for two straight after defeating New Orleans, 103-87 on Wednesday night. The Thunder have won six straight and appear to be firing on all cylinders after beating Brooklyn on the road, 117-111 giving 4, on Tuesday. The dysfunctional Lakers have been an up-and-down squad since losing Steve Nash and hiring Mike D'Antoni as head coach. The Thunder are led by Russell Westbrook (20.9ppg) and Kevin Durant (26.5ppg). Oklahoma City is 7-3 ATS L10 at home in series. NBA Line: Oklahoma City is an 8.5-point favorite. Total: 212.

Boston (10-8 SU, 7-9-2 ATS) at Philadelphia (10-8 SU, 9-9 ATS)

Last game: Philadelphia (+5.5) over BOSTON, 106-100. Boston is coming off a tough loss at Milwaukee, 91-88, getting 2.5. Philaelphia has lost two straight, including a 105-88 home loss to Minnesota, giving 3. Both teams appear to be underachieving. The Celtics' defense hasn't been strong all season (97.7ppg allowed), while the Sixers can't score (92.8ppg). Should be a great point guard matchup of Boston's Rajon Rondo against Philadelphia's Jrue Holiday. Philadelphia is 6-1 ATS 7 at home in series. NBA Hoops Odds: Boston is a 1-point favorite. Total: 190.

Cleveland (4-15 SU, 9-10 ATS) at Minnesota (8-9 SU, 10-7 ATS)

Looking for an NBA sleeper? The Minnesota Timberwolves in January will be a strong squad, especially when they get back Ricky Rubio at point guard. They take on the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are really struggling, but tend to cover most of their games, despite losing 13 of 15. Kyrie Irving (22.9 points per game) is still expected to miss a couple more weeks due to a fractured finger that's sidelined him since mid-Rookie Dion Waiters, averaging 15.2 points, has been sidelined since spraining his left ankle during Saturday's 118-117 double-overtime loss to Portland. Star PF Kevin Love is averaging 24.3 and 17.0 in his last three matchups against Cleveland, going 10 for 15 from 3-point range. Cleveland is 6-1 ATS L7 on the road in series. NBA Hoops Odds: No line at press time. Total: No total.

Iowa State (6-2 SU, 1-2 ATS) at Iowa (7-2 SU, 2-3 ATS)

Last year: IOWA STATE (-8.5) over Iowa, 86-76. Both teams are playing well, as Iowa State is coming off two straight wins. The Cyclones defeated Florida Gulf Coast, 83-72 on Dec. 4. Iowa downed South Dakota, 87-63 giving 20.5 on Dec. 4. Iowa State wants to push the tempo as they average 82.5ppg and shoot 37% from beyond the arc. Iowa averages 74.4ppg and shoots just 31.1% from beyond the arc, but they allow just 61.7ppg and and their opponents shoot just 38% from the field. Iowa State holds teams to 64.8ppg and their opponents to 37% from the field. They also outrebound teams by over 12. Iowa is 12-5 ATS L17 home games. College Hoops Odds: Iowa is a 1-point favorite.
