The NBA is on tap tonight. Before we get to the football on the weekend, let's get the hoops out of our system. There is a big card tonight in the NBA and a lot of great betting opportunities. So take a look at this betting primer for the top matchups of the night!

LA Lakers (9-14 SU, 9-14 ATS) at Washington (3-15 SU, 10-8-1 ATS)

The Lakers are coming off a 116-107 loss at the Knicks on Thursday, getting 5.5. They have now lost for straight and they to Washington as a new that is playing no defense. But they face a Washington team that has no offense. The Wizards just played a back-to-back, which ended with a loss to Houston by six, getting 10.5. The more important news for Washington is finding out whether John Wall's knee has healed today or whether he will be out a longer period of time. The Lakers are 9-3 ATS L12 on the road in series. NBA Line: Lakers are a 5.5-point favorite. Total: 199.5.

Boston (12-9 SU, 8-11-2 ATS) at Houston (10-11 SU, 9-11-1 ATS)

Boston goes for their third straight win and fourth in five games. Defensively, the Celtics may have finally found their groove. They had allowed just 88.7ppg in their last six games before beating Dallas in overtime, 117-115, giving 6 on Wednesday night. Houston is coming off a win over Washington on Wednesday, giving 10 (winning by 6). They need another big game by shooting guard James Harden to win this matchup.. The Celtics are 4-1 ATS L5 n the road in series. NBA Hoops Odds: Houston are a 2.5-point favorite. Total: 206.

Memphis (14-5 SU, 12-6-1 ATS) at Denver (11-12 SU, 13-10 ATS)

Last game: Denver (+7) over MEMPHIS, 97-92 (Nov. 19). Memphis is coming off a 82-80 loss at Phoenix, giving 6.5. Memphis has now lost two straight and have struggled with turnovers. They're averaging 17.8 turnovers in that stretch after committing 14.1 during a 12-2 start. The Grizzlies coughed the ball up 16 times in Saturday's 93-83 loss to Atlanta before adding one more in their defeat at Phoenix, surrendering the decisive basket with 0.5 seconds left. Turnovers also plagued the Nuggets on Wednesday, when they had 19 in a 108-105 loss to Minnesota (getting 4) to end a 2/3 road trip. Denver is 13-6 ATS L19 in Denver. NBA Odds: Denver is a 1.5-point favorite. Total: 195.5
