The "Guru", Week Eight: The Early Bird Gets the Tiger?

MEMPHIS - Well, week eight gets an early start with a Tuesday night game courtesy of C-USA.
“The Guru†needs to bounce back after getting throttled ATS (9-9) last week. But remember, “The Guru†did hand you Ole Miss. Go Rebs!
There looks to be a couple of more surprises this weekend, but all good things in good time. For now, let’s whet our appetites with the Tigers and Cards, and then Thursday we’ll head out to the Big East party. Let’s do this!
Louisville @ Memphis (+9.5)
The Cards got their season back on track 12 days ago with a schocking win over Florida State. Now, will they be able to maintain that momentum, as they finish out the season with seven straight conference games?
Meanwhile, the Tigers are trying to right their ship. After heading into 2002 with bowl aspirations, those dreams are fading fast with each loss. At 2-3, this is where each loss stings a little more.
The Tigers have six games left after this one. A win here would mean they could split those six and be eligible at 6-6, while a loss means they gotta win four of six. That means they would have to get two wins against either Mississippi St., Cincinnati, South Florida, or TCU. Not an easy task.
First things first, though, and that is the Louisville Cardinals. This game could offer us a nice little shootout. We all know Cardinals QB Dave Ragone, but a lot of you are fixing to get your first taste of the Tigers sophomore QB Danny Wimprine.
Wimprine has completed 57 percent of his passes this year and has 10 TDs and, more importantly, only five interceptions. If he can find a way to keep it away from one of the nation’s best secondaries, the Tigers could keep it close. Otherwise, the Cards will romp.
Quick Tip: Louisville is (7-1) ATS away off of home.
“The Guru†Says: Louisville 31, Memphis 17 (Louisville -9.5)
