Hello:

I read something the other day and it may be garbage.
But on the other hand it may not be.

Does anyone know if there is any truth to the assertion
that some handicappers are occasionally offered money
by some unscrupulous sports books to post recommendations
that are the opposite of what should be recommended?

Perhaps Cash or Blade would know the answer to this?

Anyone else care to comment and have any insider info?

Thanks 8)

It is true that some handicappers are paid to generate written content for sports books.

However, I have never heard of any sports books paying handicappers to put out picks that will generate action.

Possible? Sure, but doubtful. There are very few handicappers who actually carry enough momentum with their client bases to make this worth while.

I hope nobody actually pays for handicappers' picks anymore. Cheaper to just flip a coin. After following these guys for 30 odd years and spending mucho bucks, I'm more and more convinced that not one of them has an opinion that's any better than your own.

Hi all,

Am new to this forum and this is my first post. I have followed the premium service plays posted for a while in Football and Basketball. I don't know if this relates to this subject, but has anyone noticed when these services post a 100,000 star selection or a high rated selection that it usually loses? ( ie, last night Matt Rivers 100,000 * Arkansas ) Is it just me or maybe they are pushing the wrong side? Great to talk to other bettors in this style and to Blade and Cash you do a great job!!!!!

Welcome Chance and you are correct especially when lots of touts end up on the same game as their GOY or what ever they call it like tonight with South Carolina.

Well Blade, you called it, we can see what happened to South Carolina tonight. Another thing I noticed is when the poll show's where most of the puplic is betting, it is almost better to go the other way. A saying I heard when I was in Vegas " The Mass's are Ass's"
holds true 95% of the time. Getting back to the Premium Service plays, I admit I use them at time's, I'm curious if anyone took the time to just see what these guy's actually do record wise? You'd go broke if you tried to play their best plays every night!! Over the last coupla of weeks this trend caught my eye. I don't know if any one else noticed. By the way, if I can ask, how does The Spread get the plays without signing up for the service and is there any one someone would reccomend. I have use Northcoast, Wunderdog and Mark Lawrence in the past. They have had their up's and downs also..good talking to you.

I've found a few that do a pretty decent job and from their write ups they really do their homework. I think I've prolly used just about every major online capper out there and many of them are totally full of it......but a few seem to perform well and do much better than I have been able to do on my own........but back to the question, does anyone really think that cappers get paid by the books to make losing picks?? Surely not.......but, It really bothers me that most of the cappers sites have so many advertisements for the books, make you wonder....

Picking a loser is the same as picking a winner, 50/50.

This does not happen, trust me.

The house has the edge on every wager, there is no reason at all to get mixed up in this nonsense.
