Atlanta -- At 1 pm, our selection is on the Atlanta Falcons, as .500 (or better) NFL underdogs are 12-0 ATS in their last home game vs. division foes, if they lost the season's first meeting against that opponent. Take Atlanta.

Green Bay -- At 1 pm (time change), our selection is on the Green Bay Packers, who fall into a system that's 18-0 ATS since November 9, 2003. What we want to do is play on any team with a win percentage of .273 or less that's off a loss and favored over a team off a win. Take Green Bay.

Philadelphia -- At 4:15 pm, our selection is on the Philadelphia Eagles, as Philly falls into a 15-0 ATS system. What we want to do is play against unrested winning teams that are off back to back wins and covers, if they covered by 10 or more in both games, and they're now matched up against a foe off a loss. And if our road team is favored by less than 8 points in the final 5 weeks of the season, our system is a perfect 15-0 ATS since 1990. Washington is in off back to back blowouts (35-7 over Dallas & 35-20 over the Giants), while Philly lost 27-21 last week at Arizona. Take the Eagles on Sunday plus the points.

Minnesota Vikings -- At 4:15 pm (time change), our NFC North Game of the Year is on the Minnesota Vikings, as Mike Tice's crew falls into a 'Last Home Game' system of mine that's a perfect 24-0 ATS since 1980. It involves playing against certain foes with a won/loss percentage less than .933, provided our home team's win percentage is worse than its opponent, and our opponent is off a win in its previous game. There's one other element in this system which makes it pop to 24-0, but that will remain for my eyes only. The Vikings have played great ball since Brad Johnson became the starter, and might have made the playoffs had they not run into resurgent Baltimore and Pittsburgh squads the previous two weeks. Still, there's reason for some optimism in Minnesota heading into the offseason, and I look for the team to rally on Sunday afternoon to end the year on a high note. Chicago has little reason to be motivated for this game, and we'll lay the points with the Vikes as our NFC North Game of the Year.

Texans/49ers 'under' -- At 4:05 pm, our NFL Total of the Year is on the 'under' in the 49ers/Texans game, as non-division contests in the final two weeks of the season have gone 'under' in 21 of 23 games if the line is less than 41 points, and both teams have win percentages less than .428. Last week, we rode this system home for our NFC Total of the Year on Detroit/New Orleans 'under', and we'll use it once again here -- in the "Battle for Reggie Bush". Take the 'under' as our NFL Total of the Year.

St. Louis Rams -- At 8:30 pm, our selection is on the St. Louis Rams, as we will play on the Rams off their upset loss to San Francisco as double-digit favorites last week. But since 1980, NFL underdogs of 3 or more points are 85-45 ATS off a point spread loss as a favorite of 7 or more points, if their foe is off a win and cover. The Cowboys indeed are off a win and cover (Dallas upset Carolina last week), so we'll grab the points with St. Louis in this Sunday night contest. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.
