Yo! I am serious about getting a team together for this. Only two of you have expressed interest in this so far. I will play with however many people wanna play. I have no problem paying $500 if I only get two others to play with me.

With a team of 5, $300 a piece is not that much loot between us. I will even take care of paying the guy to enter the plays for us on my own. This is a huge opportunity for the site and any of you that may want to have a service some day. For 18 weeks the site and our names will be flashed all over Vegas and the web. Plus last year the top 60 places got prize money.

5 NFL picks a week, entry fee is $1500 USD. I want to plan a trip in mid-August to get us registered so we need to get hoppin on this. If you are seriously interested then get with me as soon as possible!

For $150,000+ for first place and prize money all the way down to 60th place you might want to do a little studying and try and get better....

Even if you don't, if we get 5 it's only $300 a piece. Worth that much just to give it a shot

Higg and USA send me an email. If we don't get anyone else let me know if you two just want to do it with me.

Boxer and others here.
I for one dont care if you are a great NFL capper.
Ive seen guys the last few years who are good cappers have who have had good and realy ugly years capping the last few years.
This has been brought on by the paridy of the NFL.
I myself ended up playing monster teasers each week
towards the end of the season because I was playing old trends that had worked in the past and had stong opinions on games that didnt turn out as winners. Thank God for NCAA. A lot of luck is involved sometimes with backdoor covers and guys getting hurt etc.
This contest will be fun to have at this SITE. Its always fun to work as a team!
Also get some more exposure for the site and maybe some more good cappers.
I cant speak for M/C and USA but the more people involved the better. All we have to do is put out our best effort and best play for the week.
Plus the chance for more $$$$$$$$$
Boxer I think youd be great for the team and anyone else who is here.

Here is an atricle about the contest from Lynda Collins from The RX....MC

HILTON SUPERCONTEST ANNOUNCES DETAILS

By Lynda Collins
TheRx.com
July 19, 2002

The sudden appearance of football magazines, tout sheets and contest entry forms is another sure indication the National Football League will soon take center stage. The first NFL exhibition game is just weeks away, with the regular campaign kicking off on Sept. 5.

Recent mail contained several pieces of propaganda, including a magazine replete with tout ads, a schedule from Mirage Resorts and a letter from Cyril Burger, race and sports book manager at the Las Vegas Hilton. The letter announced details of the 2002 SuperContest, the city's oldest and most prestigious competition for serious handicappers. The contest annually attracts many top names from the sports gambling industry.

The SuperContest replaced the Castaways Challenge, Vegas' original football handicapping shootout, in the mid-80s when that Strip property was razed to make way for The Mirage. After a brief resurrection at the Riviera, the Hilton adopted it. Eventually, features from the Challenge and its sibling Ultimate Challenge were blended into a hybrid of both. Later, the number of required SuperContest weekly selections was reduced from seven to five. When legendary bookmaker Sonny Reizner introduced the Challenge in the late 70s, players had to choose every game on the pro board.

The SuperContest carries a steep $1,500 entry fee. While professional handicappers comprise a good portion of the field, the event draws contestants from all walks of life. A casino worker and taxi driver are among previous winners.

The Hilton anticipates perhaps its biggest field ever this season.

"We're starting (promoting) early this year, which is why the letters went out," Steve Price, a Hilton bet shop supervisor, said. "We're hoping it will get people to start signing up. Our last Pick the Ponies Contest (Kentucky Derby Weekend) topped out and we had to turn people away. We think the one for the Breeders' Cup will, too, and that we'll also have a good turnout for the SuperContest."

Registration begins Aug. 2 and will continue until 1 p.m. on Sept. 6. Contestants who register by 5 p.m. Aug. 25 will be eligible to compete for a $10,000 early bird bonus prize during the season's last three weeks.

Rules basically remain the same as they have for years, with one noticeable difference. Rather than withholding 10 percent of the prize fund for administrative purposes, the Hilton will return all entry fees this season. The resort had come under media criticism for not previously dispersing them in prize money and Burger instituted the change when he took charge.

Twenty spots will cash and the first-place payoff, based on 250 entries, would be around $150,000. The Hilton will award a $10,000 (aggregate) bonus to any champion(s) with 67 percent or more winners

Well if we can get one more then that makes 5 and we can go $300 a piece.

I got a flight today for August 6th. So thouse of you that are interested still have plenty of time to decide.

Also, if there is anyone that is in Vegas from the site that would like to meet up let me know. I fly in at 7:30 and back out at 11pm. I have to do the stuff for that contest and meet with a couple people and that is about it. Rest of the day will be spent playing BJ in the MGM or Mirage
