Arnold??? Are you kidding me? Was it just me or did he have that funny smile last night thinking "what did I get myself into?".

I voted for McClintock. At least Maria will have a good term in office. Damn... how did our state become so f*cked up?! Even Minnesota is laughing....

I don't really know about what set all of this in motion. Was Davis really thatbad? What all did he do wrong besides the budget?

I will be watching though. Not like "The Body" was all that or anything but Arnie is not even close to Jesse Ventura.

I feel bad for Californians. Ronald Reagan was bad enough, but another right wing movie actor turned politician ?

Gray Davis highlights:

* $20 million surplus when took office
* -$10 million deficit when leaves office
* DWP shortages summer of 2002. Rates skyrocketed.
* State taxes are up.
* DMV fees hike up 300% as of 10/1/03
* Passed bill for illegal immigrants to obtain drivers liscence.

and the 1 positive he stated upon his exit, Elementary Education scores have climbed in each of the last 5 years.

What do you think?

Right on BIG T.
Arnold is already going to reverse the car tax. I am going to get killed this year. My Expedition went up 240.00 to 650.00 a year.

I just bought a new Expedition this last May. At least I've got 8 months.

What a mess. California is gonna be part of Canada soon. I feel for you guys. I just hope he doesn't do something crazy.

What is this car tax u guys are talking about? AND what are two beach bums doing with burley SUV's like Expeditions? That's a Michigan ride! lol

Let me clarify... the car tax is a bill Davis signed earlier in the year basically increasing new car tax and renewals 300% from previous years. So a renewal could increase as much as $500 and new car as much as $5000.

As for the Expedition, I work for a company that is sponsored by Ford so we get huge partner discounts. Basically, I got a $37,000 car for $27,000 out the door. I'll be passing it on to the wife and kids in a couple of years and then get something else more California.

Besides, California has become the SUV capitol of the U.S.

That is f*cking wack! I would be riding the bus man, geez. What the hell was that increase for? Roads or something?

That rig is made about 2.5 minutes from my pad. That and the Navi. I used to work for Ford before I started all this way back when.

I still think Michigan has you on the SUV sales though. Everyone here has them because we all can pretty much get an employee discount for all auto makers. Motor City baby. I can get a Ford, GM, Chrysler, Volvo, Range Rover, you name it and I am covered on the employee discount.

We don't know how lucky we are. Half the yahoo's here would be driving focuses if they lived in any other state but MI.

Our company is on the same deal. I think we pay 1% higher than employees, but we have access to all the same vehicles: volvo, ford, lincoln, mazda, etc. I bought the Expedition for my wife in a year or two after the newness wears off of course. Couldn't pull the trigger on the Navi since it is mainly just bells and whistles above the Expedition. Definitely not worth the price. But if you want to go that route... Eddie Bauer is the biggest joke of them all $10,000 more for that?? I stuck with the XLT.

Davis was trying to make up for the cash he blew during is time in office. What a dipsh*t.

My neighbor works for a Ford dealer. I got my Eddie Bower for the wife. I bought a 2001 just before the 2002 came out. He hooked me up at 34k. Sticker was like 42k. That 5.4 pulls my boat no problem. Has to be my most favorite vehicle yet.
Then I went out and got a F150 for myself. We are a Ford family now.
