HOTLANTA -2 +121 (pinnacle)

braves are looking to avoid a sweep of the padres and turner field. the braves were swept earlier this year out in san diego but that was a different braves team. yesterday they went 13 innings and their 1st round draft pick got the loss in his debut by giving up a grand slam. the braves also held andruw out of the lineup yesterday and quiet honestly looking at the lineup from yesterday they appeared to be trying to get the young up and comers some time.
PADRES PROBABLE STARTER: Brian Lawrence (7-12, 4.70 ERA). Lawrence gave up just one earned run and struck out four in five innings for a 4-2 win over Florida on Aug. 16. Lawrence is 1-3 with a 5.70 ERA in four career starts against Atlanta.

BRAVES PROBABLE STARTER: Smoltz (12-6, 2.89 ERA). Smoltz gave up three runs and struck out six in seven innings on Aug. 16 in a 6-4 loss to the Dodgers. Smoltz is 12-8 with a 2.82 ERA in 30 starts all-time against the Padres.

ROAD/HOME RECORDS: Padres - 29-34 on the road; Braves - 40-21 at home.

and on top of that they are wearing those awesome red jerseys they wear only for sunday home games. thought i'd throw that in...LOL!

good luck guys...go braves!
