Reason: The red hot NY Jets travel to Oakland to face the equally hot Oakland Raiders. The Jets have turned their season around after their 1-4 start. Our numbers are calling for NY to score between 24 and 31 points while we have Oakland scoring between 21 and 28 points. Everyone has been talking about Oakland's prolific offense, and while it has been quite impressive so has the Jets. With a healthy Curtis Martin leading the way, the Jets are averaging 151 yards rushing over their last 4 games. The Jets should be able to wear away at the big Oakland D-line which tends to tire as the game wears on. If Oakland tries to stack 8 in the box, the Jets also have the ability to go deep with Chad Pennington and Lavernous Coles. We think the key will be NY's ability to keep the ball away from Oakland and Rich Gannon. One thing alot of people are overlooking in this game is special teams. The Jets are #4 on kickoff returns with Chad Morton who has 2 TD's and #1 on punt returns and Santana Moss who also has 2 TD's. Oakland is in the bottom 5 in the NFL in covering kicks AND punts. We think the Jets will keep this one close and possibly get the win.
