New York (Estes) @ Los Angeles (Perez)

Well I am going to be backing the Home town Dodgers here who are back at home after a 6 game road trip.

The Mets send out Shawn Estes who has been a little shaky so far this year he has a 1-4 record with an ERA of 4.71 and a WHIP of 1.43 and has to face a Dodger team that gobbles up lefties. He is 2-6 in 15 career starts against the Giants with an ERA of 5.89 and an inflated WHIP of 1.753.

The Dodgers counter with Odalis Perez who has proven to the Braves that he was more than capable of being a starter, he has a record of 4-1 so far this year with a very solid ERA of 1.66 and an even more impressive WHIP of 0.66. In 3 career starts against the Mets he is 1-2 with an ERA of 4.50 and a WHIP of 1.812 with his last start coming last year while he was with the Braves in his only win against them.

The Mets offensively are just not producing they are 6-4 against left handers but are only averaging 3.9 runs a game against them while batting .227 with an on base percentage of .335 while allowing the opposition to score 3.8 runs a game while hitting .242 with an OBP of .343. The bullpen has been shaky lately with an ERA of 5.09 in their last 3 games.

The Dodgers have enjoyed success against left handed starters this year going 6-1 against them while scoring an average of 5.4 runs a game, batting a very solid .291 against them with an on base percentage of .418, while they are allowing just 3.9 runs a game, a batting percentage of .210 and an OBP of .299. The bullpen has been solid with an ERA of 3.32 and a WHIP of 1.049 and have been pretty effective in their last 3 games with an ERA of 2.53.

Well really have to like our chances here with Perez and the Dodgers the Mets are just 2-8 in their last 10 games and are just not hitting like they should, while Estes is 1-2 in his last 3 starts and faces a team that has given him fits over the years while he was with the Giants in his last 2 starts last year in 3.3 innings pitched against them he gave up 10 earned runs, so I will take the Dodgers with a very solid pitcher.

Playing LA Dodgers -143
