Detroit have not been playing well just lately and remain "over valued" on the back of their straight up record. The Pistons have covered the number just once in their last nine games. This is the fourth time these two teams have met this season and Detroit are 2-1 SU and 1-2 ATS having lost their last two against the number while being 10.5-point chalk and 14-point chalk.
Atlanta haven't packed it in this season despite their record. The Hawks have won five of their last 12 straight up and grabbed the cash in six of those games. During that span, Atlanta have a four point double OT loss at New York, a one point loss at Milwaukee, a two point loss at Miami, a straight up win at Indiana and a straight up win at Toronto in five road games and have grabbed the money in four of those encounters.
Detroit is 4-9 ATS when laying 11-points or more this season and 1-9 ATS in the second half of the season vs. teams who allow 99 or more points a game. The Hawks are 10-6 ATS as double digit underdogs and haven't lost by double digits in 15 straight games.

This game may not be quite THAT low scoring, but we do expect these clubs to stay safely below this posted total. The Hawks continue to run a methodical offense as has been their trademark, and as a result all St. Joseph games this season are averaging just a combined 127.0 points. Now granted Hofstra prefers a faster tempo, but while the Pride have been able to post some big scores inside the Colonial Conference, they have not been as successful out of conference as the UNDER is 6-2 in their last eight non-conference affairs.

Creighton had their sights set on the NCAA Tournament this season, but the Bluejays struggled down the stretch without pointguard Josh Dotzler, who has now missed 6 games and is out for the season. Creighton is 1.3 points worse in those 6 games than they were prior to Dotzler’s injury and my ratings favor the Blue Jays by only 2 points in this game. Creighton would be even worse if G Pierce Hibma, who has taken most of Dotzler’s minutes, can’t play with a sprained ankle he suffered in the win over Akron (he’s listed as questionable). The oddsmakers opened this line at Creighton by 3 points, but it has since been bet up (perhaps because the Missouri Valley Conference has performed well in the NCAA tournament) and there is now enough line value to make the Hurricanes a solid play. Miami also would apply to a 16-1 ATS NIT road team angle if the line were 4 or less (which it should be) and the Hurricanes are 44-21 ATS as a road underdog the last 8 seasons, including 12-7 ATS under their current coach. I’ll take Miami Florida in a 2-Star Best Bet at +3 points or more and I’ll make the Canes a 3-Star Best Bet at +5 points or more.
