My first big game last week, Iowa State in an EASY cover, started my season off right. My next one should cover rather easily also. Look for Iowa to easily handle Mia-OH this week. They started as a 4 point fav, but the line has already gone to 5. The reasons:

Last year Iowa easily handled Mia-OH at home 44-19 as a 15 point favorite. Iowa has 5 offense starters returning along with 7 def. Mia-OH has 7 on both sides returning. The concern for Iowa was returning no backfield from last year. That concern was alleviated last week as they destroyed Akron 57-21 as a 20.5 chalk. The real story was they led 37-0 after the 1st and 51-14 at the half! The offense looks legit - no worries there.
Mia-OH won last week at UNC 27-21 as a 6.5 dog. That looks good, right. Wrong. UNC gave up the ball 9 TIMES (3 int, 6 fumbles). Unc had 447 yards in total offense. Mia-OH had only 2 turnovers (2 fumbles). That game shouldn't have been close. The fact that UNC had only 3 returning starters on their defense only worsens Mia-OH standing. It was entirely different looking game if you really looked deep into it.
Last year Mia-OH went into Michigan the 1st game and only lost 13-31 as a 24.5 dog. That was a solid start. The next week they went into Iowa and got pasted. So it's not like they started their seson off horribly. I think some teams' schemes play well against others. Iowa was a concern since they lost their entire backfield, but it showed their schemes are solid this year by hitting on all cyclinders in the 1st game. Mia-OH didn't impress me the first week even though the won as a dog. UNC totally took themselves out of the game but still almost came back to win. The real teams will show themselves Saturday as Iowa romps over Mia-OH. Final score: Iowa 37, Mia-OH 24

All input, as always, is welcome !
