Why ?

The new smoking law. Can't smoke in ANY public place. Not in bars, not on the porch at bars if it has a canopy over it.
I played golf in Syracuse on Tues and we have 3 bars we usually stop at on the way home. All 4 of us smoke and we said screw it and went straight home. My wife is still recovering from the shock of seeing me home in time for dinner on a golf day.
There are many reasons why living in NY sucks. If you want me to share more of them with you I would be happy to do so.

1. Governor Pataki put massive cuts in state aid to local school districts in this years budget. The proposed school budget in my district with a 22% increase in taxes was voted down and we are on a contingency budget with an 18% increase. This will increase my taxes $1200 in Sept when school taxes are due. Unfortunately I own 3 pieces of property in the district. Rather than cut some of the top heavy administrative salaries, the school board has cut $ to programs such as sports which will have an effect on my 2 kids who each play 3 sports. This irritates me.

2. Hillary Clinton is one of our senators. No further explanation needed.

3. Extensive new food handling laws that border on the ridiculous. If some [censored] doesn't know enough to wash his hands before preparing food at home, or fully cook the ground chuck that's been sitting in his fridge for a week, he deserves whatever happens to him.

Enjoy your freedom while you have it guys, it's slowly being legislated away from us.What better example than the government wanting to take away our right to wager online, and fund our accounts with our own money.
