1/2* JIMMIE JOHNSON to WIN +600 (Sportsbook.com)
I am still riding high after nailing my highest rated play of the year (2.5* Kurt Busch +800) WON last week at Bristol! Another tough short track this week, and there is very little "value" among the favorites. Jeff Gordon and Tony Syewart will be strong, but they have dropped to around +400. Hard to back chalk like that on a short track with all the beating and banging.
I'll take a small shot with Jimmie Johnson +600(startng 1st) in a race where being up front is the key. I also expect the #48 team to be extremely focused this week, after a disastrous race last Sunday. Johnson Won here in the fall 2004 race, and teammate Jeff Gordon swept both races last year. I expect these 2 to battle for the win again, and I'm backing Johnson with the better payoff....
