NBA Draft Odds
By Sportsbook.com

Even though San Antonio cut down the nets last week, you still have one more opportunity to cash in on the NBA. Next Thursday the NBA will conduct its annual draft. There is plenty of excitement surrounding this year’s draft considering many experts feel as if this is the most talented crop of draftees to come out in years.

As everyone already knows, heading the group are two players that are considered immediate impact franchise type players. Portland holds the first pick and will more than likely select 7’1” man-child Greg Oden out of Ohio State. All Oden did during his freshman campaign was average 15.4 point, 9.5 boards and 3.3 blocks per game, all while playing the first half of the season with a banged up hand.

Right behind Portland, the Seattle SuperSonics will most likely select the National Player of the Year Kevin Durant out of Texas. Durant had one of the most dominant freshman years in recent memory averaging 25.8 points and 11.1 boards. Many consider both of these players to be 10 year all-star types that can turn around a franchise immediately.

Oden is the best center prospect to enter the draft since Shaquille O’Neal back in 1992. With so few dominant centers in the league today, Oden should be one the top centers in the league from day 1. Believe it or not, some think that Durant should be selected with the first pick instead of Oden. As good as Durant is, a team would be foolish to pass on Oden; centers with the physical tools like Oden has are few and far between.

Although Oden and Durant are the clear cut top two picks, there are plenty of other players that are expected to make an impact their rookie seasons. Most notably the National Champion Florida Gators expect to have three players selected in the top 10 including: Al Horford, Corey Brewer and Joakim Noah. Others that should have their names called out early are Mike Conley (OSU), Brandan Wright (UNC) and Yi Jianlin (China).
