-515 Tuesday, +4401 to date....

NBA:

10* SA Spurs -7 -115 (PLAYOFF GAME OF THE YEAR)

I just placed this at Pinnacle this morning, bought the half pt for my sanity. I was hoping for this setup, producing the best system in NBA Playoffs. When Home team (must be favored) loses game 1 outright, they win game two (if favored again) almost 90% of the time, and they cover around 79%. Only loss this year was SA in round 1, winning by 8 in gm 2 as 8.5 point fav, after dropping game 1 outright. 4-1 so far this year. This is also a must win/bounceback game for the Spurs, who I believe will win this series. They have a superior inside game, but struggled with the change in opponents style. They were set up for Shaq and the Lakers, and now must try to defend a running perimeter team.

Also, SA had won their previous game as a dog, then played gm 1 vs Dallas as a chalk. I usually fade teams in that setup. I had Dallas +7 and Dallas ml +300 in Game 1 for those reasons. Wednesday night will be a totally different game!

SA 106, Dallas 89

NHL: (PLAYOFF GAME OF THE YEAR)

10* NJ Devils ml -145
3* NJ Devils -1.5 +225

This is by far my biggest play of the NHL playoffs. I kicked myself for not stepping out with the Devils in game 2 as my playoff GOY. NJ won easily 4-1, bouncing back from a game 1 loss. I vowed that if this setup happened again, I would not pass on it. The reasoning is simple:

Marty Brodeur and the Devils are the best around rebounding from a loss! Brodeur's GAA is under 1.0 in bounceback games. The Devils play their frustrating dump and bang style, that wears on the other team as the game goes on. Once the Devils get the lead, they are in total control of the the game. Frustrated teams begin to take more risks, leading to odd man rushes, and the Devils will cash in. I have seen this play out so many times. Also, Ottawa is now 1-6 all-time in elimination games, after winning for the first time Monday night. Tonight will be all NJ DEVILS, as they look to close out the series on home ice!

NJ- 4
Ott- 1

Exactly what I expected from the Spurs. Tough loss for Devils. I heard Marty Brodeur got served with divorce papers yesterday. Bad timing, eh? Oh well, no excuses. I still thought the Devils would take care of business.
