2004 NCAA FB posted plays 11-5

Penn St +12 vs Purdue

This could be a very dangerous game for the Boilermakers. It is their 3rd straight road game, and looking ahead they face Wisc and Mich in consecutive games at home. A let down factor is possible after their first win in South bend since 1974. Their big win last week was statisically decieving as the Irish had more toal yards and first downs. The Penn St defense only allowed 16 points to the vaunted Golden Gopher offense last week and is only allowing 15 ppg on the season. Michael Robinson has been upgraded to possible and may play. The possibility of a less than fully focused Purdue squad giving double digits on the road to a tough defensive team with something to prove seems like a good play to me. I'll try the Nittany Lions here.

Indiana/Northwestern OVER 59

In their last 4 meetings these teams have averaged 77 points per game. I don't see that changing. 2 lousy defenses that allow over 30 points and 400 yds per game. Northwestern's offense is prolific as they showed the Buckeye's last Sat. The Hoosiers can also move the football and will do so against the Cat's D. The only way to go here is OVER

Alabama/Kentucky UNDER 40

The Wildcats are no longer the high scoring bunch of the past few seasons. They struggle to score points with only 19 in their last 2 games with one of those vs Ohio U. After struggling to just 16 vs the Bobcats, this weeks Tide D will seem like the '78 Steelers. UK's QB is banged up and may see limited action without any experience backing him up. The Crimson Tide have struggled mightily since QB Brodie Coyle was lost for the year. The Tide O could not muster a TD last week at home vs So Car. The 2 backup QB's combined for 10 for 24 and passing for just 67 yds with 4 interceptions. I don't see where 40 points will come from here. I'll try UNDER.
