NFL PLAYOFFS:
2* SL RAMS -7 -107 (Saturday)
5* GOY KC CHIEFS -3 -110 (Sunday)
Analysis:
Carolina/SL:
No doubt Panthers were impressive last weekend. Now they must play @ SL, and the Rams will be ready! SL blew a chance for home field advantage, by losing to the lowly Lions in week 17. That game, coupled with an impressive Carolina win over Dallas, serves to soften the number in this one. I love the line value.
SL is 8-0 SU and 6-1-1 ATS at home this year. The Home team is 10-3 ATS in SL games lately, and Carolina is 1-4 SU and 1-4 ATS away last 5 games.
The Rams have superior speed and offensive playmakers. The Dome will serve as a hostile environment for Jake Delhomme and the (road playoff) inexperienced Panthers. The Rams will play aggressive, and very inspired in this one. Look for a HUGE game from Marshall Faulk, and I expect the Panthers to make key mistakes on both sides of the ball.
All Rams on Saturday..........
SL RAMS 34-16

Indy/KC: NFL GAME OF THE YEAR
This is my biggest play of the season for the NFL! I was hoping for this matchup. I fully expect all of the tipsheets and "Sean Salisbury's" of the world to pick the Colts because of their play last week. There is no doubting the Colts were impressive in their domination of Denver last week. However, this is a league of adjustments, and the Chiefs will be ready.
Many are quick to dismiss the Chiefs b/c of the "D" rankings, especially against the run. That, coupled with Colts 4 TD pointspread cover last week, provide the solid line value in this play.
KC has been a different team at home than on the road. KC is 8-0 SU and 6-2 ATS at home this year. KC has now won 13 straight at home, going 9-3-1 ATS over last 13 games. "Dome Teams" are a predictable 6-26 SU and 10-21-1 ATS in outdoor playoff games recently. The Chiefs are rested, healthy, and prepared for this game!
Remember what Denver did to Indy running the ball 4 weeks ago? That is what we will see on Sunday. Priest Holmes is twice the back that E. James is (right now), and it will show on gameday. I Love the KC "O" line, and Holmes ability to run "downhill". KC will outrush Indy, and I expect Trent Green to be more efficient than Peyton Manning on Sunday.
Tony Dungee and Peyton Manning have each been underachievers in the playoffs. Coming off a big win for each of them, it is time to be faded. Dick Vermeil has taken every team he has ever coached to The Super Bowl by the 3rd year! This has been a special year for the Chiefs, and they will win this game.
Home crowd will be awesome at Arrowhead, and the Chiefs will dominate from wire to wire!
KANSAS CITY 34-17
Best of luck to you Hook! Congrats on the great 2003 season.
Thanks Big T. Looking forward to a solid 2004.........
Go Rams, and GOOOOOOOOOOO CHIEFS!
Hook,
Congrats on a GREAT Football Season..........
Let's finish with a flurish!!
Good Fortune To All!!
FB
Also note that INDY is 0-31 ATS in their last 31 Sraight Up losses! If KC wins, they should get the cover.
I believe the key to this game will be the success of KC's offense against the Colts "D". I believe the Chiefs will score in the 30's. Note that Home teams in the 2nd round of the playoffs are 38-3 ATS when scoring 28 or more points! I think the Chiefs will get there............

I apologize to all of those that followed me on the KC Chiefs. The Colts were not going to be stopped today. They were awesome, and I was wrong! Colts 38 KC 31........
You're still the man. One game does not a season make.
