ORANGE BOWL:

2* USC TROJANS +1.5 +100

Analysis:

Love the Trojans in this game. Line opened -3, now +1 or better. Most cappers and players are obviously backing OU. I don't buy it. USC has been the best team in college football for the last 2 1/2 years! This year they get their chance to play in the BCS title game after being snubbed last year.

OU lost a key peice when "little Stoops" left after last year for the Arizona job. I believe the OU "D" has fallen off significantly as a result. OU won 38-35 @ Ok St and 42-35 @ A&M. USC Offense is much more stout than those 2 outfits.

OU also struggled on offense vs. in their only "quality win" a 12-0 shutout of Texas. This USC "D" is the best they have faced all year, just as LSU was in last year's title game. LSU won 21-14.

USC (Like OU) has a head coach that focuses on the Defense. The difference is USC also has the best Offensive coordinator in college football in Norm Chow. I expect a superb gameplan for the Trojans to attack the Sooners.

Oklahoma relies on the big play, and will have a tough time in a tight game. OU may suffer from the lack of experience in putting together 12+ play time consuming drives.

Special teams will be electric as both teams have world class kick return specialists. OU is starting a new placekicker, that has never made a FG. This could be a factor in a close game.

Summary: Should be a dandy of a game. I am looking forward to this game more than any CFB "National Championship Game" I can ever remember. I have liked USC all year, and I like the line value provided by the 4+ point line movement since the opening numbers were posted. I'll back the team no one else seems to want, and I'll be pulling for the same side as the bookmakers........
