Is anyone familiar with the financial problems with the Ottawa Senators ? I read somewhere that they are near bankruptcy and could not make payroll yesterday. Ant truth to this and might there be a wagering oppotunity betting against a team that hasn't been paid ? Didn't seem to bother them last night.

Their refinance fell through. They were notified on 12/31. So at payday yesterday, players received envelopes with letters instead of checks. Supposedly, Ottawa is now looking at plan "B".

It's stuff like this that make me think there could be "fixed" regular season hockey games. The NHL is weak.
