The Tour begins it's Florida swing this week at Doral. I'm looking for shotmakers to prevail here this week as length will not mean as much here as keeping the ball in play and avoiding the numerous bunkers and water hazards at this course. Players familiar with the bermuda grass will also do well here. These are the matchups I have wagered on for this tournament. My documented record on this site for the PGA 2003 season is 32-21-3 +1020.

1. Fred Funk (+105) vs Chris Dimarco
......Fred had a nice west coast swing and played well in the match play event last week. Fred placed in the top 20 here last year and has the right kind of game for a shot makers course like this one. Chris got off to a hot start on the west coast but has faltered in his last 2 stroke play events. Chris has a record of not performing well on this course.

2. Nick Price (-150) vs Lee Janzen
......I really like Nick to play well this week on a course that has suited him well over the years. He had a top 10 finish here last year and has played well the past few weeks on the west coast and particularly well at last weeks match play event. Lee has gotten off to kind of a slow start this season.

3. David Duval (+110) vs Stuart Appleby
......Davd has had a little trouble with his driver this year but this course will call for mostly fairway woods and long irons off the tee for him. His swing and putting stroke look good and I look for him to bust out of his current dry spell this week. He has 2 fourth place finishes here and has shot 64 on this course. Stuart is a dangerous player but i will take David as a dog here.

4.Peter Lonard (-150) vs Stewart Cink
......Peter has really played well in every event this season including making it to the final 4 in the match play event last week.He also finished 3rd in this event last year. The word is getting out on Peter and the price on him is going up. He is a tough, tenacious player who is among a fine group of young Aussies on tour. I look for Peter to challenge for the title here this week.

5.John Huston (-120) vs Loren Roberts
.....John played very well on the west coast and always is a good bet on the bermuda grass in Fla. John is a previous winner of this event.

looking good so far FL...by the way from an avid golfer, duval sucks...though it is satifying to see him blow up b/c my boss used to play golf at ga tech (before duval of course) but i love giving him hell about the rambling reck alum. LOL!!!!

I'm 0-2 so far this season in Duval matches and this week is not looking good. I keep waiting for him to play well. You can get him at a good price because he's been so shitty. Why did he turn out to be such a slug ? This guy had the world by the ass. Maybe it's the Tiger syndrome, you can kind of see it happening with Mickelson and Garcia now. Maybe these guys figure with Tiger out there they have no chance to win majors or realize the kind of career they had envisioned for themselves, so they're just saying f*&k it. If David loses this match he and I will part company for a while. Who would have thought 2 years ago that you could get Duval as a dog vs Stuart Appleby ?
